City Ground 12:30 pm K.O
The Championship table makes interesting reading, as the bottom three shake themselves up. I had a sneaking suspicion that Sheffield Wednesday wouldn't stay down there [15 points from six games], however Rotherham have been a revelation taking 13 points since a 0-1 win over Derby on 16th January.
Win one, lose one doesn't work at the moment, because that sort of form has dumped Derby in the bottom three. Brum have collected a mere 2 points since the 2nd January.
The above hopefully illustrates that losing against AFC Bournemouth this Saturday lunchtime wouldn't be a comfortable outcome. Fortunately C.H's loans have all come good and integrated into the team immediately.
I have to admit to being completely wrong about Glen Murray who enjoyed a dream debut, scoring two assured goals, rather as if he'd been playing all season.
It will be intriguing to see if Hughton can get both Grabban & Murray into the same team with Mighten in a supporting role?
The Cherries seem to have turned a corner of late, beating a second string Burnley team 0-2 last night in the Cup.
Bournemouth lost Joshua King to Everton at the end of the T.W & replaced him with Shane Long [loan] from Southampton. Long had made one appearance for the Saints.
Bournemouth still play like a Prem' team with crisp passing utilising players who will shoot hard and low from anywhere close to the penalty area.
They've amassed 43 goals so far, Solanke & Stanislas have 10 apiece, Danjuma Groeneveld 6 and Surridge with 5. However they've got goals spread through out the team.
Very difficult test coming up and a litmus test as to how far Forest have progressed under Hughton.

Yeah we put a good shift in today, but it was a pretty boring watch. As you say subs could have lost the game today but they could certainly have won it. I was unimpressed with Bournemouth today, they came for a point, without doubt, and we didn’t have imagination to deprive them of it, but to be fair before Christmas we would definitely have lost today. Wednesday against Swansea is almost a free hit, as I don’t think anyone realistically expects anything, but the 4 after are definitely season defining.

And Bristol City are no longer challengers. Why on earth did they dispense with Lee Johnson π§.

My opinion is to always go for the winner.
Garner and Murray get injured and we get relegated by two points, then we’re going to look back at a game like this and go I wish we tried for the win.
We could also stay up by one point and say thanks also?!
Either way, you only turn draws into wins by going for it.
Draws turn into losses by not going for it.

The problem with going for it, is you must convert your chances and with all our goal scorers out of form/not in the team we would have lost.

----------------------------------------------------------------------We We may have lost, not would. My point being that we don’t know unless we try.
Anyway, onto the next gameπ
