One of the biggest issues I think that we have is that we are unable to keep a consistent style of play when we get injuries to key players. The level between our first 11 and then their back up is huge.
See:
Ndombele to Winks
Regulion to Davies
So with this in mind how we can shape the squad this summer with minimal impact and transfers but at the same time ensure that we can cope with injuries and keep a consistent style of play?
1. The Defence
Firstly we need new additions to the defence. The fact is that we cannot open up a game because as soon as we expose our defence we're toast. One of them will need to be a dominant CB capable of leading. Somebody like Mings would be a great addition and maybe Skrinar who was a big target last summer. Those 2 would cost big bucks! Probably looking at 100m.
I am not sure what we do about the RB position. Aurier is having his best season with us but has his moments and Doherty has been an absolute disaster. I am not sure if this is a priority area though and I can see both playing their way into form. For the LB position, we have Sessengion coming back next season so him and Regulion should be able to cover that area more than competently.
Verdict: 2 new CBs needed
2. The Midfield
No doubt the midfield has a huge issue with creativity. Sissoko and Winks are just not complete enough. The hope is that the evolution of Ndombele will help us to improve in the deeper position next to Hojbjerg but I would still like to see somebody signed. Sabitzer would be perfect. We could also see Skipp come in if the reports of his progress are to be believed.
We also need a creative player. Dele will most likely be moved on and we will use the money there to find a playmaker there. The challenge here is that there are not many players out there.
Verdict: 1 CM and 1 Playmaker needed
I genuinely think that 4 new players could make all of the difference. The problem is that 3 of them are in the most difficult positions to fill. Great CBs are extremely hard to find and we probably need 2 of them. I also cannot think of many playmakers out there that would improve what we have for less than 70m.

Money isn't everything, Ted. If you're settled in Germany Bayern is the club you want to be at. It's not like he'll be on crap money there either. Plus he's pretty much guaranteed to win a trophy or two.

Anyway. Back to reality and the OP for a minute. I don't think we need 2 CBs at all. We just need one top quality player capable of leading the defence. Get that and they'll all look better. Remember how sheit Liverpool looked at the back before VVD or City before Dias? Yeah that.

Reality?.....I disagree.
In oldentimes we had a back four, all very good players...
Walker, Alderwiereld, Vertonghen, Danny Rose.
And with that lot we came second in the Prem.
Compare that with what we have now.......
Aurier, Rodon/Sanchez, Old Alderwiereld, Reguilon.
and we often don't even play them, but instead...
Doherty, Sanchez, God knows who, Davies.
No wonder we're losing matches we ought to be winning.

"Money isn't everything?
Tell that to a player who knows his career could be finished everytime he walks onto the playing field in today's "all out" game. And who knows he has at most 10 years earning time.
And better still, tell it to the player's agent!

And answer this.............
It is a sad day indeed when Spurs supporters openly admit that Tottenham, represented by ENIC, cannot compete with Bayern for a top player!!
And thus we must make do with Levy's dregs?
Very sad indeed.
If that is the case, when we possess the best striker in the business, how can we expect to keep Kane, or Son, should Bayern, Barca, Real, or Inter come calling?
"To dare is to ...WHAT?" Lose?
Is THAT the Tottenham motto now?
God Damnit, no wonder Sandy gave up with you lot of clowns!

Just what do you think is going through the heads of Kane and Son?
Damned right! They could be playing for silverware with a better club.
Mourinho had better win something this season.

Is it safe to come out? Has Ted gone back to bed or hibernation or whatever it does?

I reckon you should tell them, they're clearly not getting it.

I'm located 8 hours west of the UK, and am not travelling ATM due to COVID restrictions, and your Boris lockdown. Which I hope you are all enjoying
So yes ....it is safe to come out.....
After today's result against ManCity.... if you dare.
That crap back four Mourinho put on the pitch says it all really.
