Well the unthinkable happened and Dundee United won two games in a row. Being they where down to ten men for most of the game this was a great result.
On the sending off like Roofe for Rangers I do not believe for a minute Pawlet intended any harm and was definitely going for the ball but he did go over the ball after getting his touch so although it's a tough call and the refs view was obscured by players, I don't see any value in challenging the red card I don't see it being over turned.
On the goals. The first was a real goal about persistence they kept Livingston penned in and around the box till they got control of the ball then a nice cut back to Sporle who took a great touch to get away from defenders and slammed the ball home. There was a deflection on route but the speed of the ball and range it was hit from, it probably didn't make a difference.
The second goal again came from pressing the Livi players, this is more impressive this time as United where now a man down. Harkes won a ball he wasn't favourite to get them played a superb ball through to Shankland and 2-0.
The third goal was a Shankland should get the assist as well as goal he flicks on a header to himself, turns a defender inside out and curled the ball to the far side. A great goal and makes the result pleasant reading.
A note on the Livi red card. A joke as far as I'm concerned. Watched it a couple of times and it's a definite foul but never a straight red as there where plenty of defenders around so don't think it's a denial of a goal scoring opportunity.
Anyway a tough run of games coming up so the last 2 games where probably vital in our bid to stay up this season. However if the team can perform like this on a more consistent period relegation shouldn't be an issue after this season.
Closer to safety.

Totally agree with everything you've said there, including on the red cards.
It was a difficult surface and I'm glad for once we went for the more direct style of play, and I'm glad he kept Appere up top when we went down to 10. I think it was the only way to play and I didn't think it was obvious at any point that we were the team down to 10 men, and credit to the players for that.
Really pleased with the last two results and it takes the pressure right off us. Doubt we'll get much joy against Rangers but I think we can look to the Killie game as potentially the game that will see us get the three points we need that should see us safe.
The difference for me is playing players in their correct positions. It really does help.

Play men in the right position? It will never catch on. Also trying to win a game instead of aiming for a draw makes a huge difference.
Not sure what points tally we need for safety as all the teams in bottom six have had their little ups in form at different times. Hamilton have taken Four points out the last six, where Motherwell are falling again. Given our next set of games with Rangers,Celtic and Kilmarnock included we can only hope the teams below is don't go on to much of a winning streak.

I think another win will see us ok. If you look at the points tallies from the last few season then we're just about there. And obviously once we're in the bottom six (assuming that's where we end up) then everyone is cutting each others throats.

I think it's safe to assume bottom six at this point don't see us gaining enough to catch Livi, or St Mirren not getting enough points to overhaul us. I guess we just have to stay above Ross County( I think Hamilton will get out the bottom two) and one other then start planning for next season. There is a decent nucleas of a team there but definitely needs some quality additions to progress up the league.

Trust you lot.
Been putting you down for wins most of the season to no avail. Now that I'm putting you down to drop points on the Predictor you pull this wee run of form out of nowhere.
You'd think Rangers would be a safe bet this weekend but with their form too, I just don't know anymore. Basturds.

Dundee Utd at Tannadice earlier this season gave Rangers a real tough game.
The whole team put a real shift in.

Spot on summing up the match. Thought our work rate was excellent on Saturday, down to ten but still pressing them on the ball. I see we’ve appealed the red card, but it’s knocked back...

Unsurprising an appeal was rejected, he went over the ball. His intent goes out the window it was a red card that was never going to be overturned once given. Bit of a shame as Pawlet had started to put some decent performances recently.

Hope Pawlett being suspended doesn't mean Mellon reverts to some awful unbalanced system. Keep the simple formation we've got now. Clark can sort of play on the right, maybe he'll do.

You really need to appeal that red frign scandalous
As was the other
