Decisions: Does Magnificent Reece James...

or Prodigy Callum Hudson-Odoi start against Southampton & Atletico Madrid. Or both?

Really rate Reece - awesome player -will go far 👍

Yep, Reece is the epitome of footballing excellence.
Doesn't deserve to be out of the side currently, built for the hybrid role which Azpi currently occupies. Conducive to everything Tuchel is looking to achieve from that position...in terms of overlapping, playing/building out from the back and stepping into midfield.

Was building quite the partnership with Hudson-Odoi at this level (before injuries disrupted that).
Without Hudson-Odoi to complement his play, that is a limiting factor in Reece' performance at Right CB, right-back or wing-back.
Infinitely better/bigger attacking threat connecting together on the pitch.

It's a shame there isn't a place for both. In my opinion, Reece James is our best and most promising player. He's so powerful, maybe he could start in the centre of midfield next to Kovacic. I can also see CHO getting better and better if he actually plays enough games. Problem is we have too many players who play in the same positions. We bought Havertz and Ziyech, we have Pulisic, Mount, CHO - they can't all play. It's a shame we don't buy any defenders.

I think there could/should be a place for both, in this current system.

CHO LWB and RJ RWB could be strong. We retain the directness/one on one ability CHO brings, and we know he can also still cross well on his left side. He also mixes it up a bit better from left side to cut inside when needed. RJ can provide the far post goal threat Alonso does along with actually being good at football..better crossed, creative passer and one on one. He is out of form right now but in form RJ has to start.

Still, with TT you never know. 3-4-3 may not be our main formation in the future.

Reece & Callum can coexist in the starting lineup, needs to dawn on Tuchel.

Left-footed defender should be a pressing requirement this summer, that will still depend on departures...struggling to offload Rudiger (doesn't look like he's going anywhere with Tuchel in charge).

However...I'm not adverse to using Ampadu on the left of a back three (currently putting in some stellar performances in that position for Sheffield United), If the intention is to retain back three system next season.
Seems to have found his spot in defence at the moment, but that may change...Tuchel can take a different view on him and decide he'd be better placed/developed in midfield.

That's without forgetting...Marc Guehi who is another defender developing well in the Championship and solidly making a name for himself as one of (if not) the best defender in the Championship, not too dissimilar to Tomori (makes less mistakes than him).
