Sissoko Once Again Proving

Sisokko has had enough chances to prove his worth but simply is not enough. As we look to try and be more progressive and attacking in the way we play, he is a handbrake, even against some Austrian cow farmers.

Unfortunately Winks just isn't taking the chances he's getting. Neat and tidy today mostly but not forward thinking enough,even vs these shepherd's

Unfortunately all those posters on here who jump on Sissoko have absolutely no idea what Mourinho instructs him to do.
Mourinho keeps on putting him in the starting eleven.
So how come Sissoko is so bad?
Obviously the player is being instructed to play a certain role and not to do certain things.
We all know he is good at running with the ball.
But he does not do any running at opponents anymore.
He simply passes the ball off.
We all know he lousy at shooting....just like Steffan Freund used to be!
But he doesn't get near goal anymore.
He seems to be on the pitch to protect the weak back four.
At least, I think that why Mourinho has him in there..... a very limited role. And he IS doing what he's told.
So..... I am giving Sissoko a "pass"......because I think the ultimate issues lie not with the player but with the manager.

See above when you don't accept it's any fault of the player

I don't dislike Sissoko. He might not be a good footballer but he doesnt deserve to be hated.

Unfortunately too many on here, and the non-internet fan base too, love criticising our own players.

Yes Sissoko has only had 1 period of being decent with us and has been a waste, but he still wears our shirt.
The supposed fans love to scape-goat. The current crop are:-

Sissoko
Winks - terrible unwarranted abuse in my opinion
Sanchez
Dier
Davies
Moura
Lamela

Previous have been Trippier, Rose to name a couple.
Skipp and Trippier are the perfect example of Tottenham fan amnesia.
You wait - those who laud Skipp now he’s not playing for us will criticise him hugely next season, in the inverse scenario of those who now covet a right back like Trippier who they hounded.

Sissoko is rubbish with even at his best for us still couldn’t pass the ball properly.

PEH is asked to do that role too, but still looks like a professional footballer doing it.
To expect a top flight player not to look scared of a ball, or have the ability to pick a pass, or use their weaker foot in an emergency at least doesn't seem too high an expectation.

He's an honest professional, who always puts the effort in, but ultimately isn't good enough.

Sissoko isn’t good enough for a side that has ambitions to be a top 4. He’s ok in one off games but when he’s considered for every game, it’s not working. Similar to Lucas.
Big, burly, awkward and aloof aren’t good qualities?
Maybe as a bouncer?🤣
We do have other dead woods too unfortunately so Sissoko is able to prosper with us!
If we had Sabitzer, I think Sissoko lovers would be asking who?

No mention of it when we were top of the league. And hardly any when these same players, largely, played under Poch.

i don't think any of the criticism with sissoko has been personal.... people are just saying it as it is - he is a clumsy oaf of a footballer, and i am genuinely amazed how a player with such limited ball skill has established a decent career for himself in centre midfield of all places!!! how the fack has he got caps for france with the quality of player they produce down there. ??!!!!

upgrade BADLY needed

Sissoko is at his best/most useful, when he is playing defensively in front of the back 4... either alongside or in place of Holjberg, to give him a rest...

You can’t hide there.... he’s a unit... quick & powerful... muscles people off the ball...he’s decent at dribbling, but his final ball or shot let’s him down.

Lo Celso or NDombele are always going to be ahead of him... but he’s a useful squad member, can fill in at right back... & is of more use to the team than Winks...
