A long haul trip for the travel weary whites today, Southend away, a fixture which didn't take place last season thanks to the season not being completed. A tough fixture, they always are against sides struggling against relegation. Since Bolton beat Southend in November leaving Southend bottom of the table 6 points adrift Southend have dragged themselves out of the bottom 3 by a point. Southend have ex Bolton player from last season Jacob mellis on loan from Gillingham in their squad. A big chance for Bolton with home games with Scunthorpe and barrow coming up to close that 5 point gap to the play offs. Is anyone backing against Bolton today on a run of 10 points from 4 games? Team news. Sarcevic is added to the squad that beat Mansfield on Wednesday. Brockbank is close to a return too. With Saturday/Tuesday fixtures the next 3 weeks a test of the depth and fitness of evatts squad.

Just finished watching the full game as live. Should have been out of sight the first half. Poor finishing by doyle. Southend came out strong 2nd half. Very scrappy little quality. Goal came from the keeper mistake, easy finish by miller. Surprised not seen more goals like that in the bottom division. Defence held firm. Great 3 points.

Scunthorpe on Tuesday, their form isn't too shoddy over the last four games but ours is the best in the division over the same period. Does that count for anything? I suppose that it would if our strikers could knock a few more of the chances into the net that they create.
I think Evatt should concentrate more on shooting practice and a little less on murderball.

Strength in depth now and can change the front 4 and 2 central midfield players without a loss in quality.

It's definitely better all we need to do now is to keep it going until the end of the season. Hopefully, the weather will improve and the mud pitches will be in better condition for us to play decent football on.
