At the end of the day the club is about managing debt and it doesn't matter if a DOF comes in and says we should sign this or that player. Levy will always have the final say and the buck stops with him.
When you pay someone £8m a year in Poch or £12m-15m for King Jose, having a DOF just undermines their position and power. It also gives Levy an excuse to shift the blame when things go t1ts up which they will. We are Spurs.

All players who would walk into our team. Our biggest problem is we try to copy other club models. Levy built the stadium by using the same architects as the gooners. He copied the DoF model first with Frank Arneson who had success in Holland. He was poached by Chelsea and every Dof since got the sack.
He needs to think outside the box and devise a strategy that is exclusive to Spurs. After 20 odd years with him, I have no faith he has the forsight or innovation required to turn our fortunes around on the pitch. He pays himself alot too!
Once crowds are back in and revenue streams from the sradium can be fully monetised, we will be cash rich to an extent even though we will be paying off the stadium and the loan the the government. Those gigs and NFL revenue will come in handy but we are 2 or 3 years away from that.
It all leads back to the pitch and the decisions that are made with transfers and managers. We could have had Jack Grealish for £25m and instead spent nearly 3 times as much on Ndombele a year or two lately who has only just started to be able to play 90 minutes. GLC injury prone, although he is back in training thankfully as reported yday. Sick of Spurs.

being frustrated by transfer stuff is a certainty as a spurs fan.
seeing the Bruno and Dias stuff do the rounds yesterday was depressing, 2 of the top 5 performers in the league this season and both do jobs we are dying for that could be difference between top 3 and mid table.

Dias was always going to be out of our reach. Strap in for the summer. No one will buy the likes of Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Doherty, Sissoko or Winks. Who would buy them? They are all average. And even if anybody did want to, Levy would outprice them. We are screwed.
