Great result tonight and some lovely goals scored.
Whilst I appreciate that our opponents were not the best, you could see Dele Alli’s quality tonight. I actually thought he didn’t play particularly well, certainly not by his standards. Yes, he scored a wonder goal and got two assists but I still get the impression he can still go up a gear, there’s more in the tank.
Well, what can we say about Bale’s goal. Wow, just wow. The strike that hit the bar against West Ham, inches away from being a goal of the season contender. Followed up tonight with a beautiful strike. His legs may have gone, but the class is still there.
There are very few players in our team who have the quality to score goals like Bale and Alli, an overhead kick out of nothing and an unstoppable first time strike into the top corner in the manner.
Next week we are in March and for whatever reason, the manager hasn’t fancied these two quality players for the best part of the season. I’m sorry, but a manager who is paid £15mn a year to manage the team has handled two of our best players appallingly. Continuously playing the likes of Bergwijn, Lucas, Lamela ahead of them is a travesty. His stubbornness could backfire and cost him his job.
Bale and Alli must start of all of our remaining prem games to make the most of what’s left of a flop of a premier league campaign.

If you’re a manager and you know you have a player with natural ability, you do everything you can in your power to make sure that player is on fire. Whether that be an arm around the shoulder, a kick up the arris, extra training whatever it may be, you do it. Not Jose, he sidelines them for months whilst making snide remarks in the press. Poor man management.

It was Poch who said (possibly via Bielsa) that players are paid to train, not to play.
We don't know what Jose saw in training, but from what we've seen for a couple of years, he can't have been training much better than he was playing.
Hopefully that's changing now as he does have talent and ability!

I never buy this. It’s just so easy for any manager to say a player hasn’t trained well so that’s why they’re not selected. How can any professional player not train well for months upon end? Garbage manager talk. Granted, players go off the boil, but not for 6 months if they have natural ability.

Bale and Dele are first XI players, but why has it taken this long for Bale to finally look fit and get regular chances, and why has Dele been overlooked for most of the season when he needs a run of games.

Not giving Bale and Dele a start next game will tell the players if you out don't bother.

I hope Bale smashes it now and we extend his loan for next season, such a quality player once he gets going

Pretty easy I'd imagine tbh. I can easily see how players might not put in 100% in training because they already think they're good enough to play, and (to his credit) if Mourinho is dropping people based on an attitude like that, then I agree with him.

A player can look fit and ready, but unless the stats back this up, a manager won't be risking them. There is an obligation from an insurance and company asset point of views, a management won't risk any player who even though looks fit, but may have issue like a recurring injury or are not achieving the levels needed.
A layman from the outside won't be aware of this.
If this was true that Jose has not played players for some dubious reason, any player won't be happy and we would know about it by now.
I saw a bunch of players trying hard in the last 2 games.
Not a defragmented lot.
