Feel he's been an unsung hero from last night. Honestly his attitude when we're up against it shows more leadership than pretty much anyone else on the pitch.
He was the one trying to make things happen when we were just passing side to side and needing 2 goals.
Saka was a hero sure and his 2 assists were different class. Put I would say Tierney was just as much MOTM as Saka.

Wasnt his best game yesterday. Came just from an injury but when we need something to happen he showed up.
Liked that he even celebrate his goal. He knew it counts nothing if we dont add a goal. His attidute is spot on.

Forgot about that (non) celebration. He really is a winner at heart.

Anyone think Tierney could do a bale and play left wing?. I say that because bar Saka he seems to be the only player that can drop a shoulder and beat his man comfortably and affect play in the box.

Pleased to see this. I did tell you so.
You can mock scottish football as much as you like but he learned his trade at Celtic where second best is failure.
The pressure of having to win every week is tremendous, even against inferior teams and it breeds winners.
If he avoids injury he'll be the best LB in that league for years to come.

Unsung hero?? Hmm have been singing his name all season!!
On a serious thought...who would have thought a left back would be so critical in how we play...

I hope he's captain next season, it's not as important nowadays and I doubt Arteta will take it off Auba but as a leader he's head and shoulders above anyone in our squad.

Attacking and defensively puts Bellerin to shame.

Tierney's da man
That said though, I think he's getting a little too much credit for "making things happen" kinda easy to do that when the ball is repeatedly slotted into an ideal spot for you to do so. He made stuff happen because when he's on the defence spends the whole game giving him the ball on an overlap. The attack's being geared for him to make things happen.
All season long Arteta has tailored the attacking approach to be almost entirely "All about Tierney and Saka." It's that bad that the team has zero balance if both play down the left. Approach play is "knock it about in our own half up to halfway, then down the line/OTT for Tierney. That's why Pepe's performances picked up on the left. He got plenty of the ball and Tierney to work with instead of Bellerin.
Both players are cracking and give them credit for being that by all means. But don't fail to take into account the fact that they're the two players who are being given by far the best chance of looking as good as they do. They might no be looking quite so "making it happen" if things weren't set up quite so perfectly for them personally to shine.

He should be our captain next season sadly we will stick with Aubameyang as we hardly ever see a player stripped of the captain armband unless they leave or do something really stupid like Xhaka.
Tierney - Captain
Other candidates imo are really only Holding or Partey.
