Ignoring whether anyone gets let in to see us play this season, I was thinking about the start of next season if fans allowed in 100% at start of next season.
With circa 20k+ season tickets allocated but no more to be allocated and the demand likely to be at stupid levels, it’s likely that a big proportion of existing die hard fans (not including the ‘new’ fans) still won’t be able to get to see Leeds play in the Premiership, especially those who are willing to travel from all parts of the country half a dozen times a year.
So, just a thought, Leeds should have at least 3 home pre-season friendlies at home and they should let in ONLY those who HAVEN’T got a season ticket.... it’s only fair ...and they’d still get a full house !!
In fact, didn’t I hear we have tens of thousands of people having Gold Card memberships too who’ll never get to see a match either 🤷♂️.
Plus...a question...how many extra tickets are existing season ticket holders allowed to purchase currently, just one, or none??
I do wonder , if the stadium was able to let in unlimited numbers of people, what size crowd do you reckon we’d get every match ?!
Who should be allowed in first??

Had a season ticket for years, watching us play Northampton, Oldham, Yeovil etc, and then most years back in the championship. Had to give it up to my brother for a year when I went to uni. Chances are won't get one again for the foreseeable future. Hopefully will still get to go and see my first live PL game at some point though.

We do need a state of the art, modern stadium however many of us will have been to games where the ground has been half empty. I have certainly been to matches where I have been the only person in several rows of the John Charles stand and also had the chance to move to much better seats than I bought on more than one occasion. Until recently, a lot of games were played with some of the ground not even open.
The fan base can be very fickle, it doesn't take much of a downturn in form for crowds to stay away.
I do think they will gradually improve the infrastructure but little by little.

I’ve been travelling to 5-6 games a year from Essex every year for the last 30 years.....except the last two Bielsa years. I blame him! 🥸.
But sad thing is...
1/ I’m not sure I see any way I’ll ever be able to see a match at Elland Road until we have a new stadium, and by then I might be too old to travel. Breaks my heart. 😢
2/ ive been able to find some way of watching the game live online over the last two years, but I know cos they’ll show less Premer League goals on Tv once things get back to normal, and LUTV won’t be allowed to show them, and streaming will be harder for people to do, the double wammy is that I won’t be able to watch online live either 😔
After supporting this team since the 70’s, including travelling around Europe it f’ing sucks.

They should pick someone who has never had a season ticket and who has (for example) been a fan for around 46 years...

it is a shame that some of us old hands who have been through the mill with leeds are now likely to be cast aside unless we fork out for a season ticket which we probably would get no more than 25% use of. Where was these 10-20,000 other fans who have season tickets now and gold memberships on a cold tuesday st patricks night when we were at home to northampton and paying £42 to bates for the privelege

See Angus kinnear writing in the programme said that it would be unfair to let fans into the ground for the last game as there could be something to play for and can understand where he’s coming from,
If we are allowed in for the last game then easiest way for me is longest serving season ticket holders working down the list,

I'd give special treatment to those fans who regularly go home & away.
Awesome how our fans fill out away allocations - these heroes should be first on the list.

Why?
To me that sounds like those with keys to the sweet shop not letting their mates in.
🤷🏼♂️
That’s not what Leeds are now under Bielsa
I’d be interested to hear his view on the matter.

I know that there are probably a lot of fans who want to go home & away - I was just considering the away contingent as being regular, loyal and having good voice to cheer us on.
Whichever way it's done, there will be regular season ticket holders who don't get in. It just makes sense to me to give preference to those who have spent the most over the last seasons to support the team.
I'm most definitely NOT one of them though being an armchair 'plastic', so perhaps I don't know what I'm talking about!

Yeah I totally understand the point Leedsfan46 and that’s one way to look at it.. but there’s alternatives...
Johnson’s paint trophy with 10k attending not many years ago.. where were the 20k season ticket holders?? I was there, up from Essex for one of my 6 a year trips.
I’m a loyal fan... why don’t I deserve equal ability to go to a match than someone who just happens to live local? Leeds United don’t mean Leeds-based.
Gonna be absolutely controversial I know, but maybe everyone should be limited to 10 matches a year, with a ‘half-season ticket’? Then holders should be offered the first opportunity for more matches, but only after other fans who haven’t been 10 times have the chance to go ?? 🤷♂️
Yeah I know everyone who are able to would like to continue go to all the matches.... I would if I was local. And I’d be livid if I was a season ticket holder and someone tried to take what I’d got off me. But wouldn’t that be fairer to spread the opportunity? Not just for longer distance fans, not just Essex, but Ireland and Norway and even the USA (thinking of you JLA 😘 🙂), but also for those of our fans who simply can’t afford a full season ticket.
Of course there’s no right answer but just maybe the old traditional way isn’t necessarily the way for the future?? 🤷♂️
