Tbf that rule has been there long before this season.

My personal belief is it is better to play home first, so they get double advantage in my book when we are the ones who are supposedly in that position.

As the winners of the FAC it meant you leapfrogged us straight to the group stages bumping us into 3 pre qual rounds, meaning we’ve played 3 games every 8 days this season
Now you get the “benefit” for winning the FAC

Would it matter if 2 clubs played in the same city anyway as there are no fans atm

Agenda? Bloody hell

It's definitely an advantage being at home in the second leg cos of the potential for extra time.

I'm not too bothered as its a good draw but I don't see why lone city entrants can be comfortable that the draw stands whereas a club from a city with two remaining entrants can't.

It should be a level playing field and the location of clubs that began in the 19th century shouldn't count against them.

Why do I know that and UEFA don't?

It's pretty much generally accepted that its best to have the home leg second.

Utter, I want my cake and eat it, tripe.

Firstly, it is a well known benefit to play at home in the second leg. Why do you think seeded teams get this benefit when draws are made in Europe ?

Secondly, thanks to your "privilege" of winning a cup needed about 5 wins, you went straight into the group stages, and put your feet up while we trudged all over Europe playing god knows how many qualifiers. Was Arteta moaning then?

Third, frankly the NLD is of no consequence in terms of the title or European places this season. Both teams are rubbish and too far behind. The reality is the Europa League is both team's best ( and only ) chance of success. So having the recognised easier draw away first leg is a huge advantage.

Does Arteta understand draw advantages ? or, as suspected, he just want's it every which way.

Probably not, but rules are rules so nothing worth moaning over.

Second leg at home is good too, we should have a clear idea of what we need to do in that second leg which will hopefully allow more clarity in team selection.

Even with a good result in the first leg Spurs' tie would still not be safe having to go away after a NLD, so their rotation would be more complicated.

Did you read what Arteta actually said or, as suspected, just the big words at the top?

"We want to have two teams playing in equal conditions,"

"We can raise our voices - and we should - but the decision has been made and that's it."

"I don't want to use one bit of excuse going towards that game saying: 'Oh, they have an advantage,'"

"It's not going to change."

Hardly a rant worthy of a seasoned whinger like say... oh I dunno, Mourinho.
