Ole Vs Pep head to head record

Obviously nobody is suggesting for a second that Ole is at Pep's level as he clearly isn't. I genuinely think Pep is one of the greatest head coaches of all time.

Ole wins 4
Pep wins 3
Draws 2

Can't be too many managers who can boast that claim can there? Ole doesn't get enough credit for what he's done. Pep wouldn't win the league with our team. Half of them can't pass the ball well enough to play for his side.

SE85 thinks United are the only club that should be allowed to spend money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nah I think clubs should only be able to spend money they generate.

City now probably do spend money they generate as FFP has essentially forced it. However that's not happened overnight.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, it took a few years but someone had to break up the cosy cartel you and the other bent European clubs created.

Fair enough. Still will never agree with it.

PSG are worse.

It's irritating that Ole has beaten us a couple of times but we've knocked you out of the Carabao Cup twice and finished higher in the league (up to now) every time it's happened.

I'd much rather we beat you but it hasn't really made any difference when we haven't.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course. You have a better team, a better manager and a Sheikh.

40 years without a trophy before the sheikh. It's almost like having a man worth 40bn owning your club is all that really counts. Pep probably didn't even know there was a Manchester City before 2008. 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Conversely, years without a trophy was due to having owners taking money out of the club. I highly doubt you were sympathetic about that though

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nah I only jest. People on here are touchy though which is why its fun.

I have a few mates who have watched city through thick and thin. Like you boys on here too. I don't really begrudge you a bit of success with what you've been through. This isn't the City you and I know. It's like some kind of cheat mode but in real life. I'd be loving it too if I was a Bertie.

Doesn't mean I think Sheikh's should be able to buy football clubs and effectively take a team from nowhere to the top. Makes a mockery of how clubs have been built up slowly over decades of hard work. But you all know that already.

Owner aside though City are a quality team with a quality manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You’ve got your own club to blame for that situation coming about in the first place though

The second point is exactly why nowadays I can’t agree with your first point.

Can we play City every week at the Emptihad please!

On a different note, Liverpool are the first side to lose six in a row on home soil in the Premier League since Huddersfield Town in February 2019. 😂

It’s a style that perfectly suits your players and counters how we play very well too.

The challenge is how you play against us wouldn’t work against a lot of teams.

This.

Of course you don't Melts. But for the Sheikh it would be 50 years without a trophy would it not? If the shoe was on the other foot you'd feel much differently I'm sure.

And thanks to FFP City's spending nowadays isn't an issue. It's probably about where you'd expect. My issue was the first 6 to 8 years where you were clearly spending money that had nothing to do with your club.

This reminds me of when we used to win the league, but struggled against Liverpool at times, because of how they set up.

They were never going to win the league how they played, but they could turn over the better footballing teams at times.

And like I said I can’t agree with that, you’re missing the point though as you think everyone is guilty of the same thing you are, which is only viewing it through the prism of your own club.

Spending within your means now, if I was only interested in City’s success, is a brilliant thing for us. It will keep us sustained at the top level. Personally, I don’t particularly care about that though, I’d rather have a much greater redistribution of wealth (back to what we used to have) to increase competition.

Due to the disparity in wealth that football itself has created, your ideal scenario would reduce it significantly.
