Could a relegation fight be looming?

All the talk of only needing 5 points, the " next phase " & who we are going to buy for next season bothers me.
Does nobody realise how close we are to being drawn into a relegation fight?
West Brom & Sheff Unt will go down almost certainly but who will join them?
Looking at the contenders I see Wolves, Southampton & Palace as established premier outfits who have enough experience & the nouse to close up shop & ensure they get enough points. Brighton & Fulham are both playing too well to go down, they will draw clear of the pack. That leaves Burnley, Newcastle & ourselves. None have an easy run in but neither do we. I see just three win-able games for us, Sheffield United, Burnley & WBA.
When you look at it like that the five points needed don't seem so easy come by. I dread going into the last game still needing a point.
Thoughts anyone or am I worrying unnecessarily?

You are 9 points off 8th and 10 points off 18th, so if you argue that you could end up in a relegation battle, you could also end up in a battle for european footy.

Nope, we have shown we can compete with the best in the PL. There's no chance we won't take at least six points from the next 33, whoever we play. We've already done enough.

I think it’s a legitimate concern. We have a really tough run of fixtures ahead. Our performances might be good, but we are not getting the points. We should have beaten West Ham, we were by far the better team, same goes against wolves.

Fulham are only 9 points behind. With the fixtures we have, we could really struggle to pick up points.

Bielsa keeps starting the wrong team, we need to go with the team that finished against WH. Drop and forget Tyler Roberts, he doesn’t cut it at this level. Costa is ok as an impact player for a brief spell.

I really hope we put in a performance against Chelsea and beat them . But under tuchel, there’s a real chance we could be thrashed.

Some of our own are our worst enemy!..

Oh how things will be next year if we buy the best 3-4 players in World football and do no better!..

I dont understand why people are only focusing on Fulham.

Brighton, Burnley and Newcastle, who are all on awful runs worse than us would also have to get more points than us between now and the season end

There is a tendancy in these situations to think every club around you will suddenly turn into prime Barca and take close to maximum points while your own club struggle to get 1.
There is a reason these teams are below Leeds and in the fight, and that is because they aren't that great.

Last season Norwich lost their last 10 or 11, while Bournemouth and Watford picked up 7 points each from the last 10. Villa, who survived from the relegation zone, only picked up 10 points in the last 10 games, which is remembered as a good run of form!!
To think Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham will all turn around their season form (averaging less than a point a game for the latter two) is just pessimism at its worst.

People are saying if and what, but if the worst comes to worst the teams that people are afraid off have to take advantage!..

Why should they succeed where we haven't?..

You have to look at it another way - if you were a betting man would you put a wad on us getting less than 5 points out of the remaining 33 still on offer?

Based on the 12 points available in the last 4 games and us obtaining 0 points, I would consider putting a bet on it.

Basically, the next 4 games:
- Chelsea (H) - we could get something out of this if he plays the right team and Bamford remembers how to score goals. Prediction: Loss
- Fulham (A) - this is must win, but Fulham are playing excellent football, plus its in London. One we should win, but I think we will lose or draw. Prediction: Loss
- Sheff Utd (H): A game we should win, Sheff Utd though have Yorkshire pride to play for and I don't think we're as good as we were when we beat them 1-0 on their patch. A tougher game than we think. Prediction: Win
- Man City (A): They are the form team. We arent where we were at the start of the season. Prediction: Loss.

So I want to be wrong, but I predict 3 points from the next 12 available, possibly 4 points if we get the draw with Fulham away.

Typo in above post, was meant to say "Based on the 12 points available in the last 4 games and us obtaining only 3 points, I would consider putting a bet on it."
