Wouldn't you have done better with the reserve CB's playing, or the new Championship one you signed etc playing behind a midfield of Fabinho and Henderson plus Thiago also playing better as part of a full strength midfield and attack? Rather than weakening both areas by moving them? Would imagine you'd be just as shakey at the back, but more often than not you'd still be pinning most sides in the league back to their own box for large periods of games.

Last time he played a full match you were hit for seven!

We'll never know Mike because had it not been for Van Dijc's injury none of these questions would need answers.

Most likely however both Phillips and Kabak have had injuries also and playing them every game would mean resorting to midfielders in defence regardless so probably best to pick the team based on the opposition. No idea what the story is with the championship defender. He was probably just bought as a cheap emergency option.

Seeing Thiago and Fabinho in midfield last night was a positive sign and there was much more control throughout the game really.

I wasn't too impressed with Leipzig myself, they were quite pedestrian at times but still obviously have quality, so a job needed to be done. The result bodes well for the future and you never know, a good 2/3 results in the league and suddenly people start talking about you differently. If that is the case, Europe, at least, will be spoken about.

Hindsight is 20/20 innit but he was injured in October and over two months later we were still top of the league and topped our CL group.

Our form really dipped when Fabinho, Henderson and Milner then also got injured. We didnt sign any more cbs until end of Jan either and William's certainly wasnt thr answer.

On top of all that long passing from cbs is a large part of our system and neither William's not Phillip's can pass for sh!t.
