Hughton has had a week on the training ground, to try and find a goal or two out of his misfiring strike force. I didn't watch the Watford game, however I was left with the impression that heads went down after they scored and we created few chances after that.
Reading away was the unfortunate game in which Yates was red carded in the 14th minute for handball on the line and was heavily criticised for it on social media. I think it was the last game that McKenna started before being subbed in the 46 minute. Reading also had 2000 supporters in the ground to cheer them on!
Reading while having goals through out the team do rely heavily on Lucas Joao, with 21 goals & 6 assists from 30 games. Their sometimes lack of goals from the other regular starters are brought about by the low scoring returns of Olise, Morrison, Puscas et el; the return from them being 6, 5, 4, 3 respectively.
They had a few bad results in February coming unstuck against Wycombe, Middlesbrough, Millwall and Brentford. Lucas Joao missed a 70 minute penalty against Wycombe who had Tafazolli sent off, for the foul.
So with a bit of luck and a following wind we should get a result of sorts, I hope!

Ameobi MOTM today I thought.
Lolley might have challenged for it if he had stayed on; he was looking sharp.

TBH - I can’t see us getting anything from our next 3 games - we’re a very weak team mentality, we just don’t seem to have the capacity not to concede - especially when we’ve taken the lead
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe not REV, but I think ten points from ten games sees us end the season on 51 points which will be more than enough to see us safe.

What a sad indictment of our season, 51 points will keep us safe, and tbh it’s another poor Championship season, Norwich will probably pop back up, collect another parachute payment and come back down Very poor division, again.

Why Freeman? Should have been Blackett last ten minutes; could have cost us two points.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Grabbs didn't do much either, Taylor or Mighten would have been livelier.

Agree Dave; and it will be tougher next season with Sheff U and WBA coming down

Unfortunately over the past 25 years we’ve basically disintegrated into nothing more that mediocre club just trying to keep its head above water
Totally inept and poor mismanagement from the top over the years has turned this once proud club, gone from mixing with the best in the top League with the odd trip to Wembley and trophy to nothing more than a poor/average team
To think teams like Bournemouth, Watford, Reading, Swansea, and about 30 odd other teams are now better and above us in the pecking order - it would have been totally unthinkable 30 years ago

Taking 1 out of 24 points available against the top six shows where we are at, fortunately there are about a half dozen teams worse than us, that may not always be the case. With Norwich and Brentford next up it may well be one from 30, ouch.

It's weird how we've changed from matching the top sides (but losing to the bottom ones) to the reverse - though we looked like getting a winner at Norwich till they regained the lead via a cruel deflection.
Which suggests it's partly down to confidence - we've not really looked like beating another top side apart from at Swansea. And for ten minutes today.
Midfield is a lot better but still hasn't really gelled. Krovinovic starts to look a bit lightweight. Knockaert can be a liability.
Up front, Murray and Grabban both look like statues too often and Taylor doesn't get a chance. Lolley today looked on song, set to score one of his specials, then pulled a hamstring. Ameobi made one and almost scored a sizzler. But we're a long way off just now.

Everybody, what did you expect after the way we finished last season and the way we stared this one. Survival will be OK by me. Our summer signings have disappointed mostly. Christie and McKenna being the exceptions.
We have to manage our expectations. I've always said we should give a manager three windows to put his squad together. So I will judge Hughton in about twelve months time if he lasts that long.
Next season top half will be OK for me and improved performances the season after play offs.
