Leicester vs MUFC

MUFC XI: Henderson, AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles, Matic, Fred, Van De Beek, Pogba, Greenwood, Martial

Subs: DDG, Shaw, Tuanzebe, Williams, Diallo, Bruno, Cavani, James, McT

Leicester XI: Schmeichel, Fofana, Evans, Soyuncu, Albrighton, Ndidi, Tielemans, Castagne, Perez, Iheanacho, Vardy.

Subs: Ward, Fuchs, Thomas, Daley-Campbell, Praet, Amartey, Choudhury, Mendy, Leshabela.

I’m not responsible for any loss today. That’s probably going to be down to Matic, Fred, Lindelof, Beeky or Martial, we can decide on who’s to blame later.

It’s hard to decipher wants going wrong at Utd
There’s very little tempo and no identity to their play
It’s not a case of saying the evident need for a ball playing centre mid or another forward or another defender are the answer to solving the problem
It’s much deeper than just personnel

I think so much of it comes from our right side being non-existent. That might not change it all back to 2008 United but I think it would make a huge difference getting a Sancho level player for our right wing.

Doesn’t remedy the problem though
I do think Ancelotti should’ve been the one brought in rather than letting Everton get him

Yes, I think that's a fair assessment. I do think that a better defensive midfielder in particular would help improve performances and probably results. But it's clear that we don't have a defined style. It's just a team waiting for something to happen, much of the time. Without that collective responsibility to control games and wear the opponent down, it will always be a struggle. The defending of set pieces is an absolute disgrace too, and is definitely a coaching issue.

Maybe if we had some quality coaches working with Ole, it would be different. Instead, we've got his former playing buddies there

Ole fell very lucky with Bruno,he’d have been long gone now without him
Rodgers has Leicester playing with a far more cohesive style of play, every player really knows their role you feel
He’d be far better than Ole

Hypothetically, I think Rodgers would do a decent job at United. Whether he'd want the job, being a former Liverpool manager and the added pressure that would bring, is another matter. Though he doesn't lack confidence, so I do think he'd probably back himself if the offer ever was made

Think they've rated Fred and Matic a bit too highly there

Throughly disgusted tonight.
All round just a bunch of cowards today. No fight in them. Stupid stupid mistakes. I mean Leicester out worked us in the midfield, but for stupid brain dead plays on top of a lack of desire is unacceptable.
Yes Fred Matic McT looking at you.
Martial going hide and seek all game.
Ole not adapting to the situation at hand.
He makes a big change within 30 mins to go, more than enough time to get a goal back, and nothing, if anything even worse...

ouch...

Fred

Sometimes you watch Fred and draw the conclusion he can't pass, can't tackle and can't shoot. Tantamount to a 12th man for Leicester; assisted Iheanacho and stood off Youri Tielemans. 1

It could remedy our problem massively. We’re too predictable and are only dangerous down the left. If we had a proper right hand side it would stretch teams out and create space in the middle.

Opposition now need to defend deep and keep an eye on our left wing. Job done
