Fred is not a PL level player

Like I say, he has good games but it’s all relevant to him. His good games are not game changing good games. They are what you would call solid. He would not play for teams like West Ham like lingard does imo

Fred is PL standard but not the standard we aspire to be.

Ask yourself. Would he start for Newcastle or Brighton or Leeds? No. He would barely start for West Brom or Sheffield and they are going down

Nick, people on our board came out with the exact same guff about Lingard. He has shown at WH he is PL level but not the level we need.

Not really the same. Lingard despite a poor goal scoring run had showed moments of class at Utd. Fred has not.

Two of Fred’s best games have been vs PSG away. I accept Fred has several flaws and I don’t think he is good enough for us . But he would get a game for a number of PL teams quite comfortably.

The really BIG problem today was Leicester City.

Having pointed that out, The substitutions were weird.

Putting on Cavani, Fernandes and Shaw was a necessity and a given, but taking of Matic, Pogba and DvdB whilst leaving Greenwood on and introducing the largely inept lummox that is McTominay was just pure giving up.

There was a real opportunity today for United to out their best XI out. Starting with telles and Greenwood was weak. Cavani and Shaw should have started.
