Bales Snub.

This thread is probably dead now but did anyone see Ashley Williams on Sky last night? He'd spoken to Bale that morning and basically alluded to the fact, when question why Bale didn't show great form for a long time this season, that he plays well when he's happy. In that case, get rid.... of Bale. He hasn’t shown much fight this season which is a disgrace when we’re paying him £250k a week. In fact, on 2 occasions, he’s been subbed on and we’ve totally capitulated - first West Ham (3-0 up when Bale came on) and secondly Zagreb (0-0 when he came on). That might be a co-incidence but it’s enough for Jose to feel sceptical about playing him.

He had a great month in February, against weak opposition, but hasn’t really done anything else all season. He’s become a sideshow that we don’t need and if he needs peak happiness to play well, then he should go back to Madrid as clearly he’s not a strong character anymore.

The form in February proved that if you're play on the front foot, positive football, he can be prolific. If you're game plan is to sit in and behave like a 3rd tier side against Prem opposition then yeah, maybe he's not the best defender. It depends what we want to be? If you want people to play Jose's brand of anti-football then maybe we should sign Ryan Shawcross or possibly Charlie Adam or even Rory Delap for his long throws. Maybe a keeper that can punt it 100 yards up the field?

What Bale has proved is that if you play dominant football, he's more than effective. He's prolific. The moment we sat in against Arsenal, he wasn't. Neither was Son though. Maybe we should get rid of him too? The truth is that all players play better when they're happy and from what we're all hearing, there's not much happiness at the Lane at the moment.

To lay the West Ham and Zagreb defeats at his door are nothing short of laughable to be honest.
