Harry Kane

Good old Harry

My thoughts are with Sky Sports and all their social media channels as well as various pundits.

The format plays out the same every time.

1. Paul Merson ( or someone similar ) wakes up and thinks "blimey Spurs are getting so far ahead of my ex club, I better stir it up a bit"

or

Some nobody like Chris Sutton thinks " blimey my agent hasn't called me with a gig for a while, I better come out with something to get my face back in the headlines"

3 A statement along the usual tried and tested lines of "He must move to win trophies" is got out there. The originator, of course, either wants to disrupt Spurs, or just couldn't care less, as long as he is back in the headlines, and therefore earring lolly.

4. Sky of course flame the fire because they are still annoyed with Spurs ( and City ) for breaking up their precious "sky 4" cartel. And of course know full well people will, one again, fall for it and therefore guarantee increase in their subscriptions / viewing figures. A win/win then.

5. The story hits the nationals, and once there, won't go away. At this point other insignificant ex footballers, many of which won nothing in their respective careers, come out of the woodwork and join in for their undeserved pay cheques.

6. Ultimately, it then gets onto Sky's oh so high quality "Transfer Programme". you know, the one where 3/4 blokes sit around a desk trying to make us all think they have the inside track, but actually know nothing and are just gossiping to each other, with lap tops in front of them that are not even switched on.

Meanwhile the player knows nothing, the club knows nothing and the fans ( us ) either just laugh at it all, or occasionally get annoyed that, once again, the media show their love for knocking Spurs at any opportunity.

So thank you Paul Merson, you managed to get this one to run for at least a month. So job done eh ?

levy has put an impossible price on kanes head.
i dont think anyone would consider 175 million.
if haarland is worth 125 million or should i say goes for 125M then i cant see kane go for 100M. there so much more upside to haarland.
every player wants to win trophies but for some its more where they win them thats important.
also i think kane has scored despite of jose's management not as a benefit of it.

Not buying the last bit about Jose. Had Kane been underperforming this season, everyone would be on Jose's back saying it is his fault so he gets credit from me for Kane's best season in terms of goals and assists. Jose has taken Kane to another level.

Says the club won’t let him leave, not that he wants to stay

The end result is the same.

Surprising and kinda gullible on your part.

And if all fantasy, how come you never hear "pundits" talking about Rice having to leave West Ham to win trophies, or Lewin needing to leave Everton to win trophies. Particularly as these two go back years longer than Spurs to the last trophy won.
Yeah, funny that.

He is gone in the summer of 2022 if Levy once again fails to provide the tools for us to compete for the PL, I would be surprised if he signed a new contract with Spurs before then, there would have to be a clear sign that we can challenge and win the biggest pots (unlikely) or a contract on offer that is simply too good to turn down (also unlikely with what other clubs would be willing to pay him). The media will be gutted for another year at least.
