Spurs to make top four this season. So with that in mind, why do most of our supporters think that Spurs are underperforming by flitting betweeen 5th/6th this season. That would be about right for where Spurs are right now in the pecking order.
Our supporters on here, and I don`t doubt they are passionate, seem to think that Spurs are seriously underperforming under Jose, and should be much higher. I think they are just about where they should be. Could have been slightly better but for lots of silly dropped points, but it is what it is. So I don`t quite see where Spurs should be right now. Should they be in the top four? Should they be challenging for the title? None of these pre season thought so.

Not one of 25 BBC pundits predicted

A fluke to a CL final? Over two legs against the world's best?
Okay, I'll bite. If it was a fluke then surely if we win this season's League Cup then that will be a fluke too? The only difference being is that we'd have faced Chelsea and City as the only top flight opposition to get there as opposed to 'fluking' against the world's best from the group stages right through to the final.
You seem to pick and choose reasons depending on what suits your narrative...
The CL run under Poch was a fluke.
The League Cup run under Jose is a masterclass.
The players not performing well in the last 6 months of Poch's reign was entirely down to him.
The players not performing (ever) under Jose is down to the players.
Can you not see the ridiculousness of these statements. They're so contradictory and full of spin.

Spurs were comprehensively outplayed by Ajax over both legs of the semi-final. Ajax should have won by two or three goals at WHL, and bossed the home game, in all but the last 20 minutes. It was as flukey a win, as West Ham scoring three goals in the last 15 minutes this season, after Spurs have outplayed them for 75 minutes.
Spurs performed very well in the League Cup this season, and fully deserve their place in the final.

Certainly reeled in the comments here Sandy 😂
Basing a seasons success based on a pundits predictions is a fools move mate.
They can't legislate for a star player getting injured, a manager walking leaving, a previous mediocre player discovering the form of the their life, how quickly signings will gel or not at all.
We have right to expect top 4 as standard, but that is the standard we've set for ourselves based on previous seasons.
We have no right, but do have an expectation not to throw away late leads so frequently.
We have an expectation to play to our strengths, not set up as an insipid side waiting for an opportunity to counter attack with our 25% possession when it's clear we aren't drilled enough to ensure that 1 goal will be enough.
It's not a poor season by comparison to others, but it's a poor season compared to the expectations we have verses some of the results we've had and the manor we've achieved those results in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs shouldn`t really be expecting top four mate. Spurs have only finished in the top four, fives times in 32 seasons. So how do Spurs expect to finish top four as standard?

Okay, I think we'll have to agree to disagree Sandy. Not much point in continuing.

No, that is fine mate. I like that we can have a decent discussion without insulting each other. That is how it should be. Enjoy your evening.

Lots of noise coming out that he's done. He'll be gone in the summer apparently.

Come on Sandy, you had us winning the title this season...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That was last season Palmers. I doubt you will find any post from that said Spurs would win the title this season, other than in jest. I stand corrected if you can find one.

I had us being higher in the table as you said we’d win the league with a bit to spare.
