Good news. Defence has been fairly solid. Well, in the league anyway but bartley will strenghthen it further.
From eurosport:
Bartley near to return
Rangers manager Ally McCoist
has no fresh injury concerns
ahead of their Clydesdale Bank
Premier League game against
Hibernian.
Only Kyle Bartley (hernia) and
youngster Kane Hemmings
(knee) remain on the sidelines,
while Steven Naismith serves the
second of a two-match ban.
Bartley has started running
again after surgery and could
return to action shortly after the
international break
Bartley close to returning!

we need another striker.
healy isnt an option imo, we can rotate jelavic, lafferty and naismith but we need a striker who can come in and cover.
sadly we dont have any young strikers coming through, something we need to rectify, murray park has done its job well and is providing a stream now of quality young players - just not strikers.

Dear god Dos did you not read my post on Hemmings a STRIKER above? A young quality one at that, fast, strong, two footed and good first touch.

dos - he was breaking thru in pre season and we would prob have seen more of him, had he not got a bad injury.
Would still prefer an exp striker.
Davie - we have been blessed with some quality cbs over the years. Particularily under walter. Gough, mclaren, big dave mcpherson etc in the 90's then recently, cuellar, davie weir, boogy. Even ugo ehioug done a decent 6 month job.
Hopefully mccoist continues that.

Dos - did he really get a chance to do that? Last year especially. We lined up in a cup final against you with Loovens and Mulgrew at CB. If you said that at he start of last season you wouldve laughed. But it was our only option.
But settled partnership or not, Loovens isnt good enough, Majstorovic is actually getting worse, Rogne always crocked, Hoiveld didnt get a chance but I dont think he's up to it, Wilson looked like he could cut it but now he needs to prove it again and Mulgrew is actually our best CB at the club and he's had his share of fook ups. The fact that Mulgrew is our best option means the rest of the arent good enough, regardless of their partner.
And we can blame the board or the manager for not getting in better personel ( even though I didnt think we would sign one this pre season as we've got millions of CBs, we cant afford to keep buying more) but when a player makes a mistake or doesnt defend well then there only is one person to blame, that player. We can moan about how money wasnt spent where it was required but the guys we've got should still be enough to cope with the SPL

Dos Hemmings was starting to break through this season., then got injured. We do need another striker in Jan, but he will add to the options and will play in the second half of the season. My worry is that it will take him 5 or 6 games to get up to match sharpness after his injury.

Ibrox - and keepers as well, although I'm hoping McCoist's influence has caused them both to fling one in the net in the last few weeks.

davie - haha i hope not. Greigsy was always prone to the odd clanger anyway. Tho he had cut it out of late. Still earns us more points than he loses us, so cant be too critical.
Alexander hardly gets a game so will always be liable to a howler due to lack of match sharpness.
Two good goalies tho.
