Players for the those clubs joining this sham will be banned for playing for their country.

Well it’s a start.

Not the players fault is it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst it’s not it will give them a choice to make.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah that's not fair is it plus it'll weaken National teams. It shouldn't even be mentioned imo. just seems petty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gonna be interesting if the six clubs allow their managers to comment on it as it's inevitably going to be 90% of their questions in every press conference from now on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuchels has his press conference nothing to say really other than he gets paid by the club..

Would assume players would be able to terminate their contracts given that the move they haven't had a voice in could have such an impact on their careers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They are employed by the club not the FA or PL or UEFA.

Just like I can be told tomorrow that the location of my workplace could be moved out of London without any say. Not that matters anymore as I have been working from home for over a year.

Just like the pandemic has proven that clubs economically don't need a home base and players have no say.

Fans don't matter anymore and need to do something to fight back.

Would be unfair to ban players from the national teams. The players have had no say in this.

They will in the future though, it should be a case of do you want to play in the premier league and for england or go to the super league

I don't see how they can ban them from Euro 20 seeing as it has been delayed a year and is still going ahead before any of these plans begin.

I think players would have a good chance legally of at least getting any international restrictions suspended until next season.

Maybe let the players still play for their national teams that are already playing for any of these clubs, but ban any players that choose to join any of these clubs once the ESL is formed.

Then it will be the players choice.

And that's whatll kill it. In the US they don't have relegation but use a draft system so talent is evenly distributed or traded to add some type of balance.

Without that model the superleague is just a stale comp more akin to watching the harlem globetrotters or Chinese league.

Not really, what will happen is the non ESL teams will become feeder teams and scouting will become even more important. Every year these clubs would be hoovering up the likes of Zaha, Grealish, Rice etc what is also likely to happen is the youngsters and reserves of the ESL teams would be loaned to prem teams - they would remove all barriers there

But how if they are banned from domestic comps?
Finding players that don't want to compete for league titles or the CL or their country may be difficult.

This is what will happen if they are not kicked out. There needs to be no connection at all - no transfers or anything. The 15 teams can’t hoover up so many players that won’t be able to play at all
