I won't be supporting Chelsea in a Super League under the current proposals, or under any proposal that destroys the soul of football in this country.
I will do the unthinkable and switch club allegiance after 51 years of supporting one club.
Because of where I live in North Essex and because the very first top flight game my dad took me to back in 1970 was Ipswich v Liverpool I will finish my life supporting the Tractor Boys.
Sad feeling this way about my club after 51 years. Very sad!
Ipswich Town will be getting a new fan

I`ll stick with the one team I've always stuck with, and thats Chelsea.
People who can switch at the drop of a hat ,obviously don't cherish the club and it's/our history as much as I do .
Quite incredible ! !

Good luck to you Harle but please don't take some moral high ground over those like me that see it differently to you. I doubt very much you cherish the club and its history anymore than I do. I don't want any part in ESL. It's not the game I want to be in. I'd rather play Burnley home and away than play in a soulless competition that has the format of Gridiron American Football, where relegation and promotion do not exist for the chosen few thus eliminating real competition. This will destroy the Premier League as we know it. No more dreams like Leicester winning the PL or a provincial club like Forest winning back to back European cups. Historic clubs like Burnley back in the big time and holding their own. This is the football I fell in love with. So don't you dare tell me my passion for Chelsea Football Club is any less than yours. I see a different picture and it stinks of greed and selfishness with no thought for the rest of the Country.

Quite a hypocritical response here. He tells the writer to allow other people to have opinions, then insults others by calling them greedy and smelly...beause of theirs.
I don't understand why so many people don't get it, of course its about maximising profits , every organisation does it , there's no difference between the aims of the FA and UEFA and the ESL.
Whatever anyone feels, provincialism in sport will eventually become continental and then global. ...which it already is in fact.
Go back to the time when folks moaned about footballers being paid wages...OMG they are professionals...what a fuss it was then...but as we know the fuss will dissipate as folks understand its inevitable.

There can't be another for me, if the club I love doesn't exist in the format I believe, then I just have to walk away from football.
This feels a little like a bereavement to me!

Brums, you can always support Aston Villa instead
After all, I believe you once told your wife you love Villa more than her.

Hypocritical? Addressing being told people like me don't have a passion for a club we've followed for 50 plus years. Pointing out that the clubs are in it for the money and stuff the smaller clubs. The PL is a great product. Look closely and see 6 PL clubs 3 Italian 3 Spanish. Why 6 Premier League? It's about destroying our league whilst helping those that are quite frankly struggling financially get richer. If you are happy with that thats your prerogative. Our national sport is being destroyed and the same will happen to the Spanish and Italian leagues.

Got to go with Bov here.
I've already stated I'll never support another club, I just won't follow the one I love into the abyss.
What they're proposing completely goes against the ideals I've believed in and cherished all my life - the club will be a different entity, destroyed by greed!

That was said tongue in cheek in the heat of battle after she accused me of loving Chelsea more than I loved her.
It was quite frosty in the Brummie household for a few days after that!

Bob...these people just don't get it. They don't realise that the product we buy into by supporting a team is more than just football. Its so much more, its like a marriage and experiencing all the highs and the lows is a massive part of that product. It makes us and it breaks us but we come through it with our fellow fans.
51 years I have married to Chelsea. There so many years of despair but in thosec51xyears but I wouldn't give up any of those bad days either. Its those days that make the a fan

It appears 6 club owners underestimated the fans appetite to accept the inevitable!
