Brendan

I'm yet to be convinced that our esteemed leader has the wherewithal to win something with us, although that's perhaps a tad unkind given the fantastic season we've had (strictly only in terms of team performance, the season itself has again been awful due to not being able to watch matches in person).

This given that we are still in with a shout of a Champions League spot (whatever that may be worth in future, which incidentally last night saw me doing something really unusual in cheering on Leeds - for multiple reasons) and taking more than a nod towards our recent success in the FA Cup competition.

However I'm going to be a bit cynical here, project Brendan needs a win in the FA Cup to engineer a return to a 'big' club, so he'll be desperate for a victory. Chelsea are the favourites but it's a one-off game and we've already shown we can beat them, albeit that was with Barnes fit and before their revival under Tuchel, so who knows, we may do it?

So, my view on this is that we'll almost certainly lose the manager this summer if we win the Cup (it might happen anyway of course but is much more likely if we succeed). I don't see any issue in this, I expect LCFC fans would be happy to trade getting the FA Cup monkey off our backs for a change of manager; he would certainly leave with my best wishes if that were the case.

Thoughts?

PS it's a pity that Nev has stopped doing his regular Monday slot on JA606, although he's obviously OK at the moment as we occasionally hear him on the Radio Leicester Monday moan in (even as I write that I realise it's hardly a fair description of the programme at the moment, not much moaning last night save for the dreadful ESL proposals).

As a Celtic fan I can only suggest to you that he’ll do what suits him. There be no loyalty involved in his decision-making.

To be honest, after the way he left Celtic, I’m not expecting any loyalty from BR. When he came I thought as long as he improves us and leaves us in a stronger position than when he came it will be a good, short term, appointment. He’s definitely been more successful in the transition to a possession based team than Puel is was.

When he goes has suddenly become more difficult to predict. With the utterly grotesque ESL on the horizon I think a lot of players and managers might be a little more unsure of when and where to jump.

He's top of the league as well once the traitors are kicked out.

Oooooo, a controversial post only beaten by the current ESL scandal. Looking forward to Joby’s thoughts on that.

I understand your post, and i kind of align to the sentiments, but I think you’re wrong about Rodger I’m the short term.

Rodgers knows he’s at one of the best well run clubs in the country, may be the world. People from massive clubs on the continent have come over to look at our model. That model supports the manager clearly. No promises of unlined funds, just a clear plan and backing.

Why would he go to a job that is hugely uncertain? That’s why short term I’d be surprised if he moved.

I also get the “bottler” label. He’s won lots at Celtic, but he’s also had lots of defeats in “big games” elsewhere that suggests he doesn’t quite get the right mentality for these games. I hope he fixes that for the final obviously!

Now long term are we a stepping stone. Yes. I think that the right and big opportunity comes along I think he’ll go.

Is that Spurs right now in their turmoil, and the ESL turmoil? LOL!!!

Some Spurs fans are convinced they'll just click their fingers and he'll jump ship and run to them.

Their recent managerial appointments include AVB, Dim Sherwood, Dodgy 'Arry and Maureen the Dinosaur.

They lucked out with Poch and then sacked him.

I would suggest that Brendan is far above their level in all honesty.
