What will happen when the likes of Madrid, City and Barca keep winning the ESL, and end up killing the competition off? They will surely feel they want more money than the likes of Arsenal and Spurs who will languish at the bottom no doubt. Will they break away to form a new league just amongst the three or four of them, and leave the rest begging to come back to the current format?

I think the ESL is just the beginning of this project. We will see one of a half a dozen clubs winning it each year. I believe this will eventually (fifteen years +) grow into a world league, with clubs owned by the mega rich in China, Europe, Middle East and USA. The Premier League in every country will become the equivalent of League 2, where the top two clubs get promotion to the lowest "World League". I do hope I'm wrong though.

In 50 years time when the top 5-6 teams of ESL realise they could make more money facing each other all the time rather than waste time playing the mid table and lower table teams, they’ll form their own league. The super duper league.
