There needs to be an objective take on this

clearly rattled by the thought of losing a foothold in the money making machine that is football the murdoch media monopoly has gone into full effect.
Firstly the neville meltdown, followed by carragher and the 24 hours news feed about "the fans have been let down"
Then the print media, Sun,telegraph, times etc
Now we have boris and the BBC jumping on the bandwagon (shearer this morning and now the capitalist previously known as bojo)

The hypocrisy is amazing

This is just the natural economic order of things, big fish eats little fish. The fans are and always will be collateral damage in this process. To think otherwise is naive.

For years we have been treated as nothing to these owners and this is no different.

Get over it

plus ca change

UEFA, FA, Sky etc are only concerned because they know the revenue that could be lost from this. Money is at the heart of all of this. This isn't anything to do with the local fans who live in the area and have been watching the club for 50 years.

Every person is seen as a customer, whether you have supported a big six club for decades, or are just watching the sport. Everybody outside of the clubs walls are treated the same. There is no loyalty and there hasn't been for years.

This now is just the next development in football, that's all it is.

City aren't going to win 8 of the next 10 premier league titles - You're literally making up a scenario to justify it
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Arsenal and Chelsea have won 16 of the last 25 fa cups. City have won 4 of the last 6 league cups
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that supposed to be evidence to support your claim or are you just completely changing the goal posts?

Aren't the current governing bodies just getting a taste of their own medicine.
The quarrel and hypocrisy is in full flow. Football sold its soul years ago resulting in the birth of the PL.

Money is king

David Dein was a key player in the formation of the PL
Kroenke doing the same thing with the ESL
Henry Norris with dodgy dealings back in 1919 at Spurs expense.
George Graham and his back handers over transfers

Chelsea and City are wavering.

Two clubs who don’t actually need the money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

BBC are saying the opposite to this, that the teams are committed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, these two were the least keen out of everybody, they were saying that yesterday too.

How about if the next development was for you to be killed? Would you just accept that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you ok?

there's also the irony of mica richards on sunday saying with a straight face about "the fans....woe the fans"

Average players coining it in, owners with dodgy human rights records, quasi dictators (remember shinawatshisname anyone), money launders....all welcomed with open arms to do whatever they like as long as money is made.

friday night fixtures rescheduled for TV at the last minute with fans told "lump it or like it"

also in the ground...£4 for a hotdog, £5 a pint, £70 for a shirt....c'mon who buys this without feeling ripped off?
don't even go into the over the top coverage.."aggguureeeero"

It's great to see all these people squirm it's just a shame they are hiding behind the "fans" and quite a few are falling for it

The people keep pointing out that football is already very problematic as if that justifies making it even more problematic amaze me
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Let’s just keep doing the same thing over and over and watch City win 8 of the next 10 Prems. Football is fooked and the powers that be won’t do the right thing by enforcing actual wage and transfer caps across Europe, so let’s distort the game to its fullest - it actually makes it fair at some level rather than the unfair current nonsense
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you actually think Arsenal will ever win this league? You're 9th ffs. Kroenke will continue to milk your club dry the only difference is he'll earn more money.

Clubs rise and fall all the time, it's what makes football, football. These six just want to cement themselves as untouchable regardless of performance on the pitch, with their appointments, player recruitment or financial irresponsibility. If they managed their clubs more effectively they wouldn't need to be doing this. Barcelona are in €1b of debt. Let them fold and suffer the consequences of poor management and over spending above your means
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. I don’t get this lazy and actually really quite naive contrarian argument that ‘x club dominating is boring’. I mean why are you surprised that the best teams that buy well and are managed well tend to be the most competitive. Has there ever been a moment in literally any sport ever where the best managed entity tends to have cyclical, sustained periods of success? And even then there’s always continuing examples in football of unexpected clubs pushing for top four, pushing in final rounds of cup competitions or even winning them.
