One huge downside to this whole sorry episode is that it has made UEFA, surely one of the most inept if not actively corrupt organisations on the planet, somehow look like the good guys.

For City to have joined this grubby cartel is truly shameful, these are the people that did all they could to exclude City from their money spinning trough. If United stay in the ESL it is no biggie, a huge chunk of their support comes from Malaysia/China in any case so moving games to KL would suit their fans.
City have hitherto had an ownership model that has enabled them to take the moral high ground by investing in East Manchester and being a part of the community, not merely in the community. I feel a lot of the goodwill they have gathered will have been lost, and deservedly so.
