John Henry

Dear Mr. Henry,

I’ve read your response to the debacle, created entirely, exclusively, secretly, without any consultation, even with your own manager, especially Jurgen himself, the teams, the fans, by you and your company, to get more money for yourselves.

I will never know the PR company who wrote it for you, but in my view, it’s high time to get another PR company. Your actions amounted to a betrayal, right across the board, your video speech not worth the effort. I thought the Glazer, Butch and Sundance, Kronke were bad enough, but you’ve plumbed even greater depths. Even the guy at Newcastle seems better.

There’s suggestions in the press that you should come to the UK, apologise, and try to explain. I feel that in the current atmosphere that would not be a wise move, anything you said would be bound to fall on stony ground.

There are no pockets in a shroud.

With the billions of dollars you own, you might benefit from spending some it, not much though. Here’s my suggestion, it’s entirely a matter for you.

Buy yourself a mirror. A big one, really, really big. I’m sure you can afford it.
Then, this is the most difficult bit, but there’s no way round it.

Have a good long, again, really, really long look at it.

Let us all know what you see.

Yours, etc.,

A fan of Liverpool Football Club

I'm by no means defending the clubs actions over the ESL but I wouldn't anticipate the money from it would have been used to line his pockets further, I imagine a large amount would have been invested into the club to improve the clubs development.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Essentially the same thing though, that’s actually more what the owners want to do.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I understand that as obviously investing in the club would increase it's value and therefore increase Henry's value and if he ever wanted to sell the club etc.

However the OP mentions about Mike Ashley at Newcastle so I was just making the point that he wouldn't exactly keep his wallet closed.

Ah yes, I agree

Like the belief that playing staff/managers never knew.

It’s great to think that the heroes were left in the dark, but it’s amazing how well informed people are and how they can be used to deflect/get you back on side.

its hilarious.

Mike ashley would be first i nthe queue if he'd been offered a go in this league. absolutely first in the queue.

Gold and sullivan at west ham? would bribe anyone for the chance. they woudl fall over each other to get a go.

Moshiri at everton? lol. lol lol. All the everton lads giving it large but they all know if their club was offered the shot they would have fought levy and spurs to the death for that slot.

the list goes on.

billionaires here and there who'd only love to be in the top echelon to be able to stab the rest i nthe back and take all the money

Yep, it’s hilarious to see west ham fans taking the moral high ground approach purely on the basis of not being invited in the first place - because let me assure you if Gold & Sullivan had an offer they’d have pushed their own mothers under a speeding train to grab it.

Agree 👍

I’d go a step further and say there is not one owner in the PL, and probably 99.9% of owners in world football who would turn down the chance of joining that league.

It’s okay tho. Hendo got the Captains together and sorted it.

Jorgen never knew? Pep, Ole?

and the other PL clubs want the 6 that signed up for the ESL to be punished.
trying to start a new competition, a closed competition, with no downside to failure... oh the nightmare... it's despicable.... it's the death of football..

and where was all this morality when west ham, aston villa et al were so vociferously arguing for the removal of demotion when the league was at risk of being ended prematurely last year? hm. a PL with no demotion... a closed system... the death of football...

yeah... right... their only real issue with the concept of the ESL is that they would have been left on the outside of it..
f king hypocrites.

as for uefa/fifa/BT/sky etc being so against it 'for the fans'. yeah, total bollox... they've shown, extensively, and repeatedly that they don't give a stuff about the fans, only about what they can get out of the fans pockets. their objections are purely about their risk of reduced influence over the game and a reduced share of the money in the game.
bigger f king hypocrites.

Yes they would, and they would be wrong too. Your club and mine were asked and said yes. They should have said no.
