Iv informed some of oles comments re Greenwood not being ready at CF, and us therefore needing a CF.
What's wrong with that?

"Mason was a bit shy there because he can play No.10, as well as a shadow striker," he clarified. "He can play right, centre forward, 10 and, at a stretch, maybe on the left. We just have to give him time to find his final position.
"He’s a forward who moves really well along the line at the moment at his age and at his development. Physically, sometimes you don’t want to be right up in the mix and in the middle with the big brutal centre-backs next to you. So I think we’ve found that he can play both really.
"That will be in the next year or two, if he’s going to be a No.9 or a forward or, as I said, as a shadow striker, in and around the goal. Definitely, we need him there even though his link up play and general play has improved a lot."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe in the future he can play as a central striker. I still think that's a few years away"
“But I think we have found a good way to develop him and he might end up as a No.9.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Basically he will get games everywhere before his final position is decided, including as a cf. He's an option at no. 9 as we have seen this season. As are Cavani, Rashford and Martial.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. He might end up a CF. But Ole thinks we won't know for a couple of years, therefore we shouldn't be banking on Greenwood, martial and Cavani at CF.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats' not really what he said. He said that we will know within the next year or two if that is his position. Given that he made those comments in in February, by the time the next season kicks off, we are already 6 months into that 1 or 2 years.
Given Ole's comments on the physical requirements of leading the line, I'd guess that how Mason's body develops will determine just how quickly he gets a proper shot at the no.9 spot. Typically we see youngsters bulk up muscle wise during the summer break. So it may be that Mason comes on rapidly in that area during the summer and Ole thinks that he is ready. Or it may be that he takes another 12 months etc. I don't think he is saying that Mason won't be played as a no.9 during that next 2 years. More that by the end of that period we will have a clearer idea of where he will play long term. He will be an option at no.9 in the next 2 seasons and he needs games in that position to properly learn it and for a decision to be made on his capabilities there.

Yeah, so like I said, he might be a CF but we wont know for a period of time (Ole specifically says a few years)

No, what you said is that Ole stated that Greenwood will not be used as a CF for at least a couple of seasons. That isn't what he said at all and I will be amazed if Greenwood isn't given some more game time as a no.9 next season. You need to try and take in what Ole has actually says, rather than trying to make it fit your fetish for a new striker. If Cavani signs a new deal then we don't have an immediate need for a no.9. Especially in the current economic climate.

This is nothing to do with what I want. Read the bloody quotes.

I didnt mean he will not play 1 minute at CF under Ole, but Ole clearly doesn't see Greenwood as being his regular CF for the next few seasons.
I therefore believe we need better options than Martial plus the odd game there for Cavani and Greenwood.

You said that Ole had said Greenwood won't be used as a CF for 2 years. That isn't what he said. Nor will it be the reality. If Cavani signs his new contract, he will be our main no.9, as he has shown that he is still better than any of our other forwards in this position. Greenwood, Rashford and Martial are all capable of playing that position and Greenwood specifically needs time to develop his game there. Throw in Amad and possibly Pellistri offering competition on the right (thus allowing Greenwood to play centrally more often) and I don't think that a striker is a priority.

I meant he won't be the CF regularly.
If Ole doesn't yet intend to use Greenwood to play CF week in, week out, then we need to sign one. Martial, Cavani and Greenwood aren't good enough options.
