I know he meant well but can't help thinking about this little bit of Shelley at the moment.
I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Mel Morris, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away."
Mel Morris with apologies to Percy

So many poor decisions, unfortunately, starting(?) with the employment of Sam Rush

Oh Spart, I'm a bit surprised you read Percy in the Telegraph. I thought you were a Pravda man.

Spart, I had planned exactly the same article! I was going to wait until the end of the season.

To be fair to Mel Morris, he has put in about £300 million and tried his best for the club. Sadly he's been let down by most of the signings and managers. When Cocu was appointed people were creaming themselves about him and many thought Nigel Loony was the answer.
I feel sorry for Mel, he's a local Rams fan and has done his best. Sadly it hasn't worked and we are left with one of the worst squads in our history.

Don't feel sorry for him.
He hasn't spent £300m for starters but he has spent a lot.
And the point is ... he's spent it.
No one else has been responsible for what the money was spent on.
All the cr4p players, all the shi7 managers, even Sam Rush ... they are/were all Mels choices.
He is reaping what he has sown.
I have absolutely no sympathy for him at all when it comes to the state our club is in and has been heading towards for many years.

It’s my favourite poem. There is just something about the final line.
