Pretty obvious now that a major

clear out of players is now required. Spurs are simply not at the level required to win trophies. They never even give themselves a chance in finals and semi-finals, they always lose with barely laying a glove on the opposition.

The mental attitude is all wrong at the club, and over the next five or six seasons, all of the current players need to be moved on. Most are not good enough. Only Kane is of any quality, and he himself never turns up in the big matches. Son flatters to deceive, he may as well have been on holiday for the last couple of months. Nobody else really warrants keeping. All should have a price put on their heads, and move them on one by one.

Only Lloris of today`s team showed he wanted to win, with his willingness to go the extra mile to keep the ball out of the net, the rest of the defence were pretty poor, and only a mixture of poor shooting from City kept the score down.

No way am I going to blame Ryan Mason, although his subs were very poor. But you can only work with what you have, Jose had the same problem. Our midfield is incredibly poor, they can barely string a pass together, and Kane having to constantly drop deep to pick up the ball, is taking away the attacking threat.

So moving on big, big changes of playing personnel are needed. Cannot see CL for a few season`s now, but I would like to think get a few players in, money permitting, that will at least be able to compete for domestic trophies, and when they get to semis and finals, try to actually win them.

We have to ask ourselves How many of of our players who played today would get into the City or even United side.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course not many but that doesn't excuse 2 shots in over 90 mins of footie.

I was embarrassed watching it.

The sad thing is that City were actually there to get the surprise win against. They outplayed us and for all their shots their conversion rate was terrible. If we had made more of our counter attacking opportunities which were shocking from out point of view, we could have snatched a win. Mason blew it as well with his team selection and subs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree, despite City’s domination, they only had 4 shots on target. A better side would have exploited this and perhaps come away with a win as City were unusually under-par in front of goal. We looked clueless and miserable though, players look devoid of all confidence and typically, we mess it all up.

Hard to blame Mason but why is he even here as interim coach? Its a nice story, but would a top side seriously put a 29 year old in charge for 7-8 games, including a cup final? When Chelsea need an interim coach they get Guus Hiddink. Not having a go at Mason as we’d all say yes given the chance, but Levy’s decision making here is yet again a poor one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Chelsea are in a different ballpark to us when it comes to ambition (and money admittedly). When they are struggling under Lampard they sack him and bring in Tuchel. We give it to our 29 year old inexperienced youth coach.

Levy is like a discount, Lidl brand version of Abramovich.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That could be down to the fact that Chelsea are also a chequebook club, with unlimited finance at their fingertips. Spurs do not have that.

There is no way in reality that Spurs can compete with City and Chelsea long term, They will just get richer.

That was why I was all in favour of at least Spurs being part of the new ESL, at least Spurs would have a better chance with all the money it involved. As it is, Spurs have no chance, with a billion pound stadium to pay for.

I agree Sandy, with a the new stadium to pay for and a very average squad I can only see the gap between us and the iffy oil money clubs getting bigger.

I don't like the concept of a league with certain teams protected against relegation but if you can't beat them join them.

We don`t need a major clear out, what we need is to replace Aurier, Sanchez, Sissoko, Doherty and Winks with top quality, and a manager that can get the best out of the squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How about Dier?
Why didn't Rodon start....isn't he good enough?
And what about Bale....I'd have started the game with Bale instead of Winks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

LOL Everyone knew Rodon was ineligible, except Ted. Try to keep up fella.

Exactly mate. Not my idea of fairness. But football currently is not fair. So you have to try to join the chequebook clubs, or get left behind.

Money is a factor but it's not preventing our club from making better decisions and showing more ambition. Leicester don't even have the financial might that we have but are doing better with the on-field stuff than us at the moment. If they get top 4 and win the FA Cup then that's a more successful season than we've ever had under Levy.

Yeah I would Irish, but he wouldn't be my first choice. There is however no way I can see him leaving Leicester for us. It makes no sense to ditch a project he's in the middle of where he's on the brink of CL footy and possible FA Cup glory to go start another at a club that won't be getting CL football.
