Chelsea lose to city in the CL final but city win the premier league they cant take two places in next seasons CL. What if utd lose to Arsenal in ropey league final and take one of the places does that mean we lose a place and the team finishing fourth lose out. England have 5 places to win but with these set ups we could bite ourselves in the behind.

Only way 4th misses out in any of the major leagues is if the CL and Europa winners both finish outside the top 4 in the same league.
So you won't fall victim to it, the ones that might are West Ham, Liverpool or Leicester if one of them finish 4th, Arsenal win Europa and you win the CL while finishing 5th/6th.

For 4th place to miss out the all following needs to happen:
1. Chelsea win the UCL
2. Arsenal win the Ropey League
3. Both teams end outside of the top 4.
It is possible, but a real outside chance of happening.

Feel like that scenario is more possible right now than it actually has been before tbf

Can we stop with the gloom and revel in the memory of taking Tottenham’s triumphant CL qualification via league position, by winning it.

yes but if chelsea finish 4th and win the cl then does 5th place get in, maybe a chance for spurs or liverpool there

No. You only get a 5th place where the winners of the UCL, who automatically qualify to defend their title, are outside of the top 4 places, so its either top 4 including winners or Top 4 + winners.

It's so stupid how people are coming to this conclusion and it isn't the first time I've seen it in recent weeks.
Most season's a top 4 team in their respective league wins the CL yet they've never given an extra place for 5th, what on earth has given people the impression this year is different?
