Coffee4Craig

Was just watching Si King of Hairy Bikers fame speak passionately about raising awareness around and working to support food banks on Sky News, and he's inspired me to give a shout out to a magnificent organisation in Manc.

Some of you living in the city will already know Coffee4Craig or might have seen the outdoor street kitchen they used to run in Piccadilly Gardens. You might also have seen or heard our very own Bez - patron of the charity - talking about them

For close to a decade C4C have been providing support to the city's homeless population, and have grown from initially handing out teas and coffees in the city centre, to now operating a full out of hours drop-in service offering hot food, showers, food parcels, medical and social support and mental health crisis intervention.

They are run and supported by a bunch of absolute facking champions, and they're always in need of and massively grateful for support.

You can find out more about them here:

https://www.coffee4craig.com/

And follow them here:

https://www.facebook.com/Coffee4Craig/

I've just discovered that they have some fantastic Manc-centric branded merch for sale (available through Facebook), but if you don't fancy a mug or a t-shirt, you can send a direct donation (or even get in touch about volunteering!) here:

https://www.coffee4craig.com/support-us

Even if it's just whizzing them a couple of quid or sharing their Facebook page, please consider offering them your support. They make a very, very real difference to a lot of people's lives

Apologies for going off topic and thanks for reading.

Having experienced help from the Sally Army and Street Pastors I appreciate the effort of organisations and groups who take the time to help others. I hope your appeal is successful but when I can afford it I try to return the favour to the SA.
I never give money to people begging. I often buy them sandwiches or burger/chips and a bottle of water, can of Coke or cup of coffee on a cold night. Just giving them money so they can nip into a late-night shop and buy booze isn't really helping them.

Good article Rosso. These wonderful people go quietly about their work, in some cases for months and years giving time, support and much needed subsistence to those in need of it. They are all true champions!!!
