Holding, Chambers, Ceballos, Xhaka lb

Holding had had good games for us just not often enough, chambers has done reasonable as a back up, but he’s no more than that. They’d be alright as bottom half players.

I Don’t get Xhaka at LB, he can just about do a job there if we’re playing a team who won’t Utilise the wings, but that’s about it. An argument for Cedric not being there was that he’s not good in attacking areas because he’s right footed, and can’t get the crosses in. But having Xhaka there he just doesn’t attack at all. So why not just play Cedric who at least is experienced at fall back, and more use to defending against wingers? Or there’s saka, yes we lose his attacking abilities, but he can still do some of that from fall back, and is more capable defending against tricky wingers, plus we’ve got Pepe, Martinelli or ESR who can take sakas place on the wing. Everyone knew Xhaka would be rinsed at LB as soon as he plays against a decent winger, and he was twice. So why continue with him?

Ceballos has almost cost us in every Europa knockout, today he was playing like denilson at his worse, and on a yellow, why not bring him off?

The whole games was thrown by unnecessary dumb decisions by Arteta today. We showed signs we could get at them, but we were hamstrung by having no CF, why not change when it wasn’t working. And why even bother starting like that for the first time ever in our biggest game of the season when we had strikers available. It’s madness. Wonder if Arteta was trying to be too smart to show he was better coach than Emery.

I’ve cut Arteta a lot of slack this season, because a lot of the players aren’t good enough and so on, but today he just took a difficult situation and made the whole thing worse for no reason. At best He should be hanging onto his job by a thread at this point

We've got loads of players who can be decent sometimes and it makes us persist with them, Holding and Chambers have been here for ages and proven they're not at the level we need. Ceballos plays well sometimes but is sh!t most of the time, nothing new he's been that way for two years. Saka and Tierney are really the only quality, consistent players we have. We've got Partey and Gabriel who hopefully will come good but it's not guaranteed, prospects like ESR and Martinelli, players like Laca, Pepe who have talent who can't produce it consistently and then the majority of the squad is low quality players. The problem is if we got rid of everyone we need to we'd be left with about 6 players. And when we do move these players on we buy more wasters anyway.
