MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head

Brighton have won seven of their past eight league games against Leeds United.
Leeds have lost four consecutive league games at Brighton without scoring.
Leeds United's last away victory at Brighton was by 3-0 in League One at the Withdean Stadium in November 2009.

Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton have won just two Premier League matches at the Amex Stadium this season.
However, they have kept five clean sheets in their past seven home games.
The Seagulls have failed to score in their last three fixtures despite attempting 51 shots.
Neal Maupay has four goals in five league appearances against Leeds, including the winner at Elland Road earlier this season.

Leeds United
Leeds are unbeaten in six Premier League games, their best top-flight run since November 2001 (W3, D3).
They have won nine of their 10 games against the Premier League's current bottom seven, with the only defeat coming at home to Brighton in January.
Illan Meslier, at 21 years and 52 days, became the youngest goalkeeper to reach 10 Premier League clean sheets in a season after he kept out Manchester United last weekend.
Patrick Bamford has scored nine of his 14 Premier League goals away from home this season.

So a chance to dent Brighton's survival hopes and get our own back for the earlier defeat, Hopefully Paddy will continue his Away Scoring form and add to his 14 goal tally.

For me this has 2-1 written all over it but I'd love to be wrong and see Meslier get another clean sheet Paddy to score both our goals

How has Klich managed to stay on till end. He was woeful. Should've brought on Pablo 20 mins earlier but usual he's the last option.

There is no answer to this. Very puzzling as he has been a good servant to the club but based on his last dozen or so appearances I would sell him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Needs a rest clearly, small squad coming home to roost.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sad to say this but I would look at offloading him and replacing with someone with more presence. Brighton bullied us in the middle today. Would keep Shackleton as back-up and focus on signing a decent #8.

I don’t think Klich is underperforming - I think he’s just reached his limitations in this league. What’s the point in keeping him, as he wouldn’t be an effective sub either.

Maybe you are right. If we can move him on we should. I don't know what length of contract he is on but his performances this season will not have clubs beating a path to sign him from us. He could do a good job for a top half championship club I feel.

People have to remember that Klich was one of our best players for the first third/half of the season.

Be interesting to see what the same people’s comments were back then.

Klich was our best player after 10 games imo. He’s lost form over the season.

Could be several reasons for that too.

Think it’s very harsh to talk about him as a player that will never be good enough at this level given that a few months ago he was much more than good enough at this level.

I'm not sure if Klich has had covid if he has that may explain his collapse of form

Macca, I think it is COVID. Got him and Rodrigo.
Hopefully they both fully recover for next season.

Klich has had injuries and covid, off the back of playing basically every game for 2 1/2 years. Needing a rest is understandable.

Poveda isn't necessarily the best option on the wing, that's why he's fourth choice. He's done okay when he has come off the bench in recent games, though, and when the players ahead of him are out he should be starting, not reshuffling a team that has been playing well to put Klich in instead. Dallas wasn't effective at RW, and we missed him in CM. Poveda was more effective, because he could at least pick up the ball and try to beat a man, even if he wasn't creating. Brighton at that point had a low block, because we gave them an early lead.

We clearly lacked pace and option in the first half. Harrison a good winger (had a bad day today), but you need something different on the opposite side. Dallas isn't that. Poveda should have started.

Plus he played just about every game last season. Worked himself into oblivion really and Covid has just finished him off I think.

He will be back.
