Only 3 minutes injury time? Their goalkeeper has had it 1 minute every time he’s had the ball
----------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the most satisfying things in football is becoming utterly frustrated for the whole match by the opposition GK wasting so much time taking kicks etc, only for your team to take the lead and see their keeper suddenly rushing around taking everything at rapid pace. Didn't happen for you tonight sadly and the door is a teeny weeny bit left open by you for the chasing pack. 3 points would have sealed it top 4 for certain i reckon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah every team does it I guess.. Ben Foster comes to mind as king of it - I feel like I’ve watched him for hours taking goal kicks over the years!

So true. Time you will never get back! Thanks Ben!

Is it just me that still thinks it’s a red card.
Wins the ball, plays it in to Vardy’s path who will run on to it and then cleans him out.
Irrelevant with the result as we were rubbish at dealing with the 10 men but still a red card for denying a goal scoring opportunity.
Is Vardy done? He is as a lone striker yes. But I think he can contribute for longer to come as a 2.

Vardy’s movement is still fantastic which has helped Ian a lot with his goals. the worrying thing is his finishing, it’s been awful since he’s come back from his last injury, the chance tonight when he comes inside was easy for a striker as good as him.

It’s weird because you can put loss of speed down to injuries and age but his shooting seems to have fell off a cliff since he’s come back

More a number 10 aka Rooney... We can not put him out in a wheelchair. If his last injury has done him, well what can we do? He is off the boil and denile is not just a river in Egypt.

Vardy owes us nothing, but was never going to last forever.
Ian needs a partner and Vardy is still the best option. Who else plays? Perez?
We've known we've got to plan for life after Vardy for some time. I still wouldn't be surprised if he suddenly found form and went on another run, but the time will come, eventually.
We should find some alternatives for next season and only play JV a maximum of once a week irrespective of form. We need to transition to a different system and be less reliant on the attributes of one, phenomenal, player.

'Is it just me that still thinks it’s a red card.'
It wasn't, he got the ball end of, the Keeper was collecting the ball from the Defender.
Completely the wrong decision and I fully expect it to get overturned yet again.

I've been concerned for some time that there didn't seem to be a plan for post-Vardy, but with Ian coming good of late that seemed to be less of an issue.
In terms of the present position re Jamie, I'd go along with the supposition that he's finished/come to the end/move on if he was clearly not outpacing defenders, making good runs, taking up clever positions in the box and the like; basically not getting chances. That would be an indication that his pace, which is a large part of his threat, may be going.
However, that does not seem to be the case, despite being generally less central he is getting opportunities, just not taking them. Add in that he may not be fully fit after his injury and still adapting to a markedly different way of playing, it is perhaps premature to write him off just yet.
I reckon if you asked every other team's centre back pairing of who they would prefer to face when playing us out of Ian/Perez and Ian/Vardy, there is little doubt in my mind which selection they would make, even with Jamie's lack of goals recently.
It may simply be a loss of confidence, which could return quickly and he could easily then be banging them in again on a regular basis. On the other hand, if this new pairing of Ian/Vards is working so well in getting the goals (and potentially extending Vardy's time in the team), who cares if Jamie isn't getting quite the share that he used to? If that is good for another year or two, it gives us time to find a longer term solution to the issue.
