I see a few articles and videos floating about from Jamie carragher and Thierry Henry picking their next 6(random) choices to be in the premier league hall of fame,
“FOOTBALL STARTED BEFORE THE PREMIER LEAGUE YOU KNOW" - someone bitter on this site probably.
Who would be your choices?
Feel free to do 6 including your club and without(if you’d like). Any reasons would be good.
My 6 would be
1.) John Terry - say what you will about off the field antics(sometimes on the field) but the most successful captain of the pl era. And imo the best cb to have played in the premier league. Something I agree with carragher on.
2.) cantona - Suarez, ibrahimovic, klinsmann - none of them match the impact in such a short space of time that cantona had on English football
3.) Lampard - most consecutive games played for an outfield player in the pl, top goalscorer from midfield, top 5 for assists, highest recognised peak(2nd in ballon dor), just unreal
4.) vieira - the player I hated the most growing up because he was so good. More a personal choice this one for me, think he’s become severely under mentioned over the years.
5.) Rooney - another one who is under mentioned and was consistently underrated during his playing years. Even when Utd came to Chelsea and lost, if they drew or won, when Rooney played he was always their best player by a mile. Top 5 in the pl for goals and assists.
6.) Steven Gerrard - unlucky to never win it but what a captain, great all round player.
All this subject to change when I remember an absolute worldy of a player I have forgotten.
Players like bergkamp, silva, hazard, schmiechel, cech, Keane, vidic. List is endless

Possibly, although there will be plenty I'm sure that think he should be there because most of his goals were easy on the eye.
Di Canio? He'll probably get there just for having a type of volley named after him.

I don't care if he was better than him with the ball. The job of a CB is to bloody defend, look at Dias yesterday. Terry was not better than Vida at defending.
