Not sure about Andersen, think he would have been excellent under J*se but in a more attacking side I'm a little skeptical about him defending in a high line, he's quite slow on the turn because of his frame.
His ball progression too is done more through long passing, which is nice obviously but I think what we're really missing is Vert's ball carrying and line breaking passes from deep.
He's an aerial monster though, one of the best in the League. And he seems like a big character. We lack both of those things clearly
I said yesterday that it'd be a bit of a Højbjerg signing where it's a definite improvement but also you feel like you'll have to improve on him too sooner rather than later.
I think maybe the athletic or Alasdair gold said the other day that we want to bring in 2 CBs so if we get someone else in too it'd be a good move

Hojbjerg needs improving on? Dread to think what you of the Ndombele then if you apply the same logic..

Always liked Foyth. Just too small for a CB in this league and is he really a decent RB or DM cover? May be one of 3 CBs he could work well, he's probably our best CB in possession.

"What we need is what Vert's gave us, someone comfortable carrying the ball into midfield and playing passes low between the lines."
Foyth would be perfect for this, never got why everyone thought he was shiiit. He was a young CB who made mistakes and people acted like that was never going to go away as he got more game time

Hopefully a year on loan has beefed him up abit. Only saw him play a few times this season. He seemed abit better so credit to him.

He was light weight when he was with us hence why people thought he was shilt. I think had he been sold last summer no one would have really been bothered. I'm not sure if he has improved enough in the last year to make it in the prem week in week out, but as stated before he can't do no worse than Doherty. Glad he has played DM under Emery as I always thought that would be his best position given his frame.

always thought when played there Foyth looked good at RB
he needed to be loaned out straight away but Poch was terrible at the loaning thing

His lack of height coupled with good pace makes him a good RB for me. The fact that he can cover so many positions is another reason why we need him. Emery has made the right call with him. I remember him playing RB for us a while back against Bournemouth away. He was having a brilliant game but he made one daft decision and got sent off for it. I saw enough to know he could do it in the Prem though. He needs another chance.

#thfc are in pole position to sign Olympique Lyonnais defender Joachim Andersen. He is expected to move for £20M. | @TelegraphSport
Good deal and good player. Defo upgrade on Sanchez/Dier. Him with Toby or Rodon would be good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What have you seen in the handful of games Rodon has played in for you to rate him Sandy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The way Rodon fingered your mum whilst I was ploughing her from behind impressed me alot Stan.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sandy that’s just a very immature and pathetic response
