"We can't praise him enough because he's doing fantastically. He came from a club where he isn't used to play every three days so the concentration level is very high to have to deliver."
"We're very happy to have Edou on a good run. He's a friendly and humble person and this calmness helps him during matches to influence the defenders. It's nice."
"He is part of a goalkeeper group that's outstanding and without strong guys in goal you can't win games."
Too right, Echoes my exact thoughts
"Billy Gilmour has had to step up because we play with a double six. We were rotating between N'Golo, Jorgi and Kova but once we missed Kova for some weeks it was time for Billy to step up and I was pleased he could when needed."
"We have an eye on the players workload and the statistics we have, who is overloaded and from that we will decide who has a risk of injury. Everyone who isn't a risk will be available for the game. It's not to manage the game on Saturday as we are in the middle of a race. It's not the time to judge games."
"Kova is a big loss because of his ability to drive with the ball. He is such a unique player and a fighter. He has big expereince and he is a good match with Jorgi and NG. He is a big miss and I can't wait until he is back in team training. I hope he can be back in training after Arsenal."
Tuchel...start Gilmour against Arsenal
Match tomorrow and next week against Villa, potentially be his only opportunities to start.
TT on Edouard Mendy...

TT: "Andreas was crucial in the games he played. We missed him around Porto with a hamstring problem and now he has a tendon problem. He was crucial in the back three and can play all three positions. He is very calm but is a tough one to play against. He uses his body well in individual duals and is good with his passing."
"We were a bit relieved yesterday when the images were given and they what weren't we expected. We have realistic hopes the season isn't finish and that's very important."
Relief! Shoud be back for Leicester.

What worries me is having to depend on Zouma. He should be nowhere near a team that plays a possession game. Shame we'll be losing Tomori.

Zouma is fine as a rotational option for the short-term (until the end of the season).
Probably wont start in a back three tomorrow anyway. Azpi, Silva, Rudi.
I'd prefer Zouma starts tomorrow and Azpi gets a rest ahead of the FA Cup final
Mendy
Zouma Silva Rudi
Reece Jorgi Gilmo Chill
Mount Callum

Does anyone know the situation with Tomori? This £25m option to buy is it binding or could we say no we don't want to sell? I agree with Draven that we would be better bringing him back and offloading Zouma for a decent fee around £30m. Tomori is young and potential is high. Any thoughts on this.

The release clause agreed between Chelsea and Milan is optional for the latter to trigger...now that Milan qualified for CL should have the funds available to afford him.
There are two ways Tomori can possibly return to Chelsea:
1 - Player himself decides he wants to return to Chelsea.
Would advise against that.
Development will stagnate, due to being behind Rudi, Christensen, Azpi, Silva (extends contract) and maybe even a new CB.
Best for his career to part-ways.
2 - Milan for whatever reason opt against signing him.
I'm not fussed if we lose Tomori, we've got Guehi (who is just as good, if not better) and Ampadu waiting in the wings.
Both of which have a higher ceiling, to my mind.
Buying a CB shouldn't be a pressing requirement in the summer.

Mendy's done really well since Tuchel came in. Hasn't had a 'wtf' moment in a very long time + is starting to trust his wrists now. One of the things that stuck out from footage of him in France, and earlier this season, wasn't just parrying shots back into dangerous areas but an instinct to save with both hands (limiting his reach). It's still there, but you can see it's progressively being coached out of him.
But yeah, been very good lately, looking like a no.1 now. And Kepa (since Tuchel) is looking like a perfectly fine no.2
I now believe he's a good enough #1

Thought I'd re-iterate that last point as I recall someone saying my opinion of him would never change

Well apart from that obviously
Picture him costing a fraction of that & not leeching on the wage bill. Perfectly good backup, Tuchel's version (and Sarri's tbf).
