I’d say Spurs rather than Burnley. There were very few clubs that had the foundational criteria and infrastructure to attract Mansour to invest.

Similar to Ripley though, I’ve never been fussed about whether other people care or not. Ultimately we’re all just fans at the whims of the people in control of our clubs.

It's not your fault, and I certainly don't resent the fans. They paid the dues with their support all the way down to league 1 when their club was being run horribly. What they have to accept though, is where they were prior to being bought, and where they are now and the reason for that is down to who bought them.

It's not your fault, and I certainly don't resent the fans. They paid the dues with their support all the way down to league 1 when their club was being run horribly. To be fair, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t. We’ve suffered (and subsequently benefitted) from the actions of the owners of our club more than most.

You’ve acknowledged it there but it does irritate me that some people don’t remember the reason we turned into a yo-yo club rather than a mainstay near the top was due to our owners at the time too.

Mansour didn’t stick a pin in a map, or pull an English club’s name out of a hat. This argument that it could happen at any club falls down at the very first hurdle - and that is it is a comment that is made to downplay City’s success based on a falsehood that it is simply random.

Even Spurs, while a better example than Burnley, doesn’t really stack up either (this is apparent by the fact that Spurs have just spent a billion on a new stadium - something that Mansour didn’t need to do in regards to City.

And others are right. Point the fingers of success at our owners. Every single City fan does acknowledge that. But by the same token point our past failures down to previous owners also.

City have spent the vast majority of its history in the top flight. And had success in terms of trophies won) in the past that placed it in the top ten of English clubs. And had a value and income level that, prior to 2008, was ranked among the top 20 clubs in the world.

Burnley are not a suitable comparison. In fact, it is ridiculous.

It still doesn't make it any less of an achievement just because of who owns City. The owners who do have the most money in this league, in general, find themselves near the top end of the table. Or would expect to be there at the very least. Even when Leicester won the league in 2016, they have owners who have plenty of money and backed them, but of course not to the levels that City had. Blackburn were the same back in the 90's.

Leicester City title win was insane as they had the highest odds of winning the league after just staying up but clever punters should have looked at the previous season end and backed them.
