Just watching the Sky Sports weekly program "Football Mundial".
They featured an ex player from Columbia who moved into politics for a short spell after he retired.
Whilst he was in power (elected as a member of government) he created and was successful in putting into a place, a system where every mobile phone call made within Columbia, contributed a 4% donation to a country wide sports improvement plan.
The outcome was a massive improvement in facilities for youngsters participating in all sport but mainly football.
I thought this was pure genius and wondered if we could possibly implement a similar plan in Scotland.
Just think of the amount of calls made in the country and the excellent publicity this would generate for the mobile network companies.
Obviously the biggest stumbling block would be getting all of the mobile companies to agree but surely they would see the benefits of such a program and let's face it, we need to improve our game from the grass roots up!!
Anyone have any thoughts??

"Whittaker....".....your prejudiced and mean-spirited comments are exactly the reason sound ideas for helping Scottsh football tend to fizzle and die.

Surprised at Irn-Bru outselling Coca-Cola to be honest, hardly see anyone with a can of Bru in my works canteen, but plenty of coke cans about.

Agree entirely Dos......football is by far and away the most popular sport in Scotland. And probably in the worst state of any other sport right now. So any scheme should be devoted entirely to our not so beautiful game!!

Got that fact from one of those auld geezers at work that seemed to be an expert on everything so may not be entirely true anymore Bones....
Might go back and stick a disclaimer on that comment

Scotland should drop English at schools.
Teach kids in some Latin language like Portuguese, Spanish or French. Football skills come more naturally when you grow up speaking those languages.
