but if Kane is saying he wants to move on from Spurs, then the club have to slap a world record fee on his head. Currently the record fee is £198 million that PSG paid for Newmar. I would then stipulate that he can only go to a very limited amount of Prem clubs, say Brighton, Crystal Palace or Aston Villa, other than that he has to move abroad. If he is happy to go along with that, then I would definitely sell for a world record fee.
No player is bigger than our club, and once he has gone, if he does go, I will quickly forget him, he has been a good goalscorer, but certainly is not in my opinion anywhere near a legend, that a lot of supporters think he is. He has been part of a set of players, that have continually failed to step up to the plate when needed, so with that in mind, just maybe Spurs will be better without him.
Spurs will carry on long after he has gone, and he could never in my opinion be put in the same bracket at Spurs greatest ever goalscorer Jimmy Greaves. Now he was a legend, and he won trophies with Spurs.
As it stands Spurs and Daniel Levy hold all the cards, Kane holds none. So let`s see how it pans out. If Kane has asked to go, then the first thing that needs to happen, is that he gets dropped from tomorrow night`s game with Aston Villa. No player should be playing in the Spurs colours if they don`t want to play for the club.
I personally think it would be good for Spurs for Kane to leave, won nothing with him, so let`s try without him.
Of course it could be all made up media bollox, after all Sky have been trying to sell Kane for the past three seasons. If so ignore this article.

It is only a rumour at the moment,

its all well and good people like sandy saying that he will go for a world record fee or this much or that much... but absolutely noone has any idea if there was any type of clause in his latest contract saying he could leave for a certain fee if CL football wasnt achieved
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one here can know for certain but Levy has been with us now for over 20 years. He has a certain way of operating and it would be completely out of character for him to take a risk like that. First of all, it makes no financial sense. You lose the CL money and suddenly you agree to sell your prized asset for a lower fee? No chance. You might "agree to sell" but certainly not at a specific fee. It will more likely be "agree to listen to offers". That's a completely different ball game.
Levy just doesn't do risk.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
maybe.. but how much time did kane have left on his previous contract?
if it was running down low enough then it may have made financial sense

Sandy I think you need to be a little more respectful for a player that has literally done everything he could for this club. It’s the fault of the owners and Levy for not providing enough quality when given that opportunity which is the reason why this club have failed to compete and win trophies. Harry Kane has broken records left, right and centre: 100% he’s a Spurs legend just as much as Greaves. Him not winning anything doesn’t change that. Maybe his team mates haven’t been good enough because he’s head and shoulders above any of them. Harry Kane goes, Spurs go back to mid table mediocrity. It’s as simple as that.

Don, Kane has not broken any goalscoring records for Spurs, and not in a million years can he be mentioned in the same breath as Jimmy Greaves. Very decent striker yes, but not up there with the best of the best.

Agree. Kane has to move now, otherwise it will be all downhill from here on for him at Spurs.
If ENIC were to revamp the whole back four with top class players, maybe I could see staying.
But that won't happen......Sanchez, Rodon, Doherty,, Aurier,..... Kane has more of the same to look forward to

If I were Levy, I'd try to convince Kane to stay one more season (like United did with Ronaldo in 2008) on the promise he's allowed to leave the following summer. There's reason to believe the market will be more favourable in 12 months, with buying clubs' finances in a better position and more clubs in the market for a centre forward due to the recruitment cycles. Play it well and Spurs get another year of service, and a bigger fee at the end of it, and Kane doesn't feel demotivated.
I still have big doubts that a deal can be done this season. Too big a gap between what Spurs would need and what buying clubs can afford. Too much a risk of funding Spurs' rebuilding project while snookering themselves from investing across their squads.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do we know that didn't happen last summer?

You are just trying to make yourself feel better Sandy if he’s sold. The whole “Harry Kane is good but not that great “ scenario. Load of cobblers mate. Harry Kane is an outstanding striker and probably the best currently in Europe along with Lewandowski. If he stayed at Spurs, he would no doubt be breaking Jimmy Greaves record. 1000000% percent. I really don’t think you appreciate just how good Harry Kane is. You will see, if he does go to city and he starts banging in 40+ goals which he is more than capable of

Frankly I think Kane will replace Mbappe at PSG.
Would be great playing with Neymar.
Under Pochettino.
Can play Bayern Munich and see how he compares with Lewandowski!

Eh? He is pretty much identical in goals to games, in fact a touch better.

So it is clear he wants to join a team that can win trophies and play in the CL so he most likely is off. Hopefully he doesn’t go to Man City. I have a feeling Ole will get him as we haven’t had a top premierleague striker in a while. Someone who will score when it is 0-0 and tight with half a chance. Kane thinks if Spurs are offered like £100m he can go. To be fair to Kane he can say he will be worth a lot less in a year or two time.
