I don't know if many of you have been reading the VSC site recently but conspiracy theories about Willie McKay and his involvement with the Rovers abound.
I don't have any inside knowledge about this (like most of the people on the VSC site I assume) but it strikes me that it's a bit like a game of Chinese Whispers - someone says something to their mate, it gets passed on and distorted, and all of a sudden it's almost treated as fact. For example, one of the stories goes that McKay has bought a 25% stake in the club, which from what I understand can't be true if he wants to continue his no doubt more lucrative job as an agent, given the Football League rules.
I guess you could say there's no smoke without fire but I think people should wait for some hard factual evidence before jumping to conclusions.
Anyway, link below to latest article from Paul Goodwin on SOD's departure for those who haven't already seen it. As usual he seems to talk a lot of sense.

Well, it gets better - Nottingham Florest manager Stevie Mc Claren has resigned. Now I wonder. A club with big crowds but a board unwilling to spend. Recipe for SOD and ROK methinks

El Hadj Diouf was considered but JR said he thought he was going to Russia. I met an old friend last Tuesday at the training ground, Bryn Law of Sky Sports who told me he was there to interview Ryan and Diuoff. However, it did not come off.

I have just started research in to who the mystery money man might be. I started at Wrexham and two names popped up Colin Poole, a disqualified director and ex boss of Claims Direct, and Jon Harris. I think it is important to know who is putting the money in to our club and it should be legal and above board. I hope there is no connection with these two but time will tell.

Ionly,
I could be wrong, I hope I am wrong certainly with Mr Poole. It looked like he wanted to run the show at Wrexham but couldn't because he never satisfied the fit and proper person criteria laid down by the FL. If you recall the recent TV documentary the authorities find it difficult to identify who own clubs. The method of operation is to take over a club, put good players in with the objective of getting in to the PL and then selling the club for a great profit and it's the position of the club after the sale after the unsustainable success has gone that is the problem.
If Pooles name crops up we start to panic.

When I said Poole could not run the show openly that's where Jon Harris came in to be the figure head as CEO, look out Mr Morris. My guess is that when the supporters trust gained power at Wrexham their fiendishly cunning plan failed and they withdrew.
The question now, is this man Mr Poole, bearing gifts?
Can it happen?
Remember Beresford?

The way I read it Poole and Harris are already linked to Shrewsbury. Wrexam's not that far away. Suspect McKay might be an agent for people wanting to put money into clubs so that's more likely to be a source. If there is one of course. Might just be the existing directors!
