Anyone think this is a bit of a bizarre move considering what they did with Suarez last summer?
Suarez has always been the better player and is also far more reliable fitness wise than Aguero. He was the same age last summer as Aguero is now when they essentially forced him out the door.
Read somewhere today that Aguero has 3 PL in the last 18 months.
Barca’s transfer activity has been very poor in recent years.

Still a quality player when fit. Will bag a ton of goals for them.

Seems a strange one in my opinion. How long's the contract? High risk with his injuries and does beg the question why they got rid of Suarez.
I do expect it will be that kind of summer for Barca though. Likely to sign Wijnaldum and Depay on frees too.

Yes and Cavani was a gamble that let’s be fair only 6 weeks ago many including myself were on the fence about.
The Cavani transfer wasn’t exactly met by optimism by our fan base at the time and would have been less so if we’d gotten rid of a better player of similar age a year beforehand.

probably a last ditch effort to keep messi happy?

Possibly but Suarez is also a close friend and I’m sure Messi would rather play in great side than play with his mates.
They haven’t exactly torn the world apart for Argentina in the past either.

Laporta is much more focussed on keeping Messi happy than Bartomeu ever was

Barcelona are pretty much done. Messi 34 next month, a couple more years out of him, and then the massive rebuild will commence.
Aguero just a stop gap for a couple of years until Messi legs have gone, and he moves to the saudi arabian league or whatever.
I do agree that Suarez leaving was very strange.
