Maldini is perhaps the greatest defender that i have ever seen play the game.

AC has shown improvement playing in a back three, but I don't get the Maldini tag in anyway.

I wouldn't put too much stock into Pep's fascinations for players in retrospect. He's a genius on a training ground/football pitch, but like Ferguson he doesn't have the most consistent eye for a player. He has big hits, but quite a few misses along with it.

Not that Christensen is a miss btw, I think he's a good player with limitations, but Pep's judgement isn't gospel. Try that argument with Jorginho, one e.g.

tbf, Jorginho was one of the best midfield players in Europe at Napoli.

Not his fault he has lesser players around him now.
