I'm with Inky. It means OK to scuba divers. Just a case of some uninformed people giving a sinister meaning to an innocent gesture.

a**holes are always claiming innocent symbols for their own meanings, the nasis did it all the time.

At least the nasty goose-steppers 'flipped' the sign for their symbol.

From what I can remember I'm pretty sure some people on either 4-chan or 8-chan decided they wanted to "troll the libs" and took the most mundane well used hand gestures going and said they were going to now use it to mean white power to see if they could actually do it and to see if people would fall for it.

And they did... in a major way... to a degree in fact that litrally confirms every "snow flake liberal crybaby" stereotype they wanted to confirm for themselves.

The guy who won three games of Jeopardy! is as perfect example as you can get of this.

I admit this is a small sample to colour my view of an entire nation, but the few Austrian people I've been in contact with on the continent have without exception been nasty pieces of work. Both males and females.

I distinctly remember an Austrian woman almost knocking my hemiplegic & 50% blind missus to the ground in order to get past her in a public place.

If I meet a nice Austrian I'll be sure to publicise the event to redress the balance.
