I thought he was good but let's not get carried away. He has a lot of talent and was easily the best midfielder of the four on the pitch tonight ... but he needs more time before he is the one actually affecting the game. That's the problem England have - Foden, Rice, Phillips, Mount - too inexperienced. In the big games they are just not ready to step up every time - Mount MAYBE more than the rest, but England need experience and creativity.

Difficult to say after playing against such a poor side

Just saw this on the BBC article; “Gilmour completed more successful passes than any other Scotland player (40), with a 91% success rate, misplacing just four.”

I'm expecting lots of apologies from mainly Celtic fans on here to be fair for debating with me and telling me Gilmour shouldn't start or play for Scotland.

He should have started the Czech game and we probably would've won.

Most Celtic fans just believed Clarke wouldn’t play him (I was one) but who wanted him in the team.

Of course a few would have said Turnbull or the likes but that’s reasonable bearing in mind his inexperience at international level.

I too was surprised at the team selection last night, if only he had gone for that in the first game. More surprised at just how incredibly poor the opposition were, truly awful to watch.
