Eriksen Collapse Complaints

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-57600807

I was one of the many who made official complaints to the BBC for their disgraceful broadcasting of Eriksen's collapse. The way they are still attempting to hide behind UEFA is outrageous. Yes UEFA were broadcasting it, but the BBC could and should have immediately cut the feed; rather than show what appeared to be Eriksen lying dead on the pitch. The most cruel part was when they decided to show his partner in tears hugging Kasper S. I am still unhappy now and have already written to Lucy Powell about it. The BBC are a public service organization,
so there has to be a full public enquiry with the right BBC culprits held accountable.

Thank God Eriksen is fine though, that is the most important thing we can take out of a scandal like this.

This is why so many people panic in emergency situations. Let's cut away to keep as many people as ignorant as possible.

Yeah, cos watching at home is conducive to learning CPR.

I learnt I still can’t say defibrillator no matter how hard I try and would be crap in an emergency situation.

If it has made just one person want to learn CPR then that is a plus. Obviously the best outcome of this is that he survived. Instead of setting themselves up as judges of what adults can view in real-life situations perhaps the BBC should create a web page showing how to do CPR and other first aid treatments

i have emergency training but tuned out when it happened as anyone was free to do.
cutting away seems to be kind of extreme. just don't watch. some people do seem to have strange reasons for wanting to see such things, like at road side accidents they cant help but they slow down to almost a stop to get a good look.

The awareness would have been raised with or without the images though.

Welcome to reality

And the reality is that there won't be queues of people signing up for simple first-aid courses tomorrow because it's someone else's job. Just one day of training could help you to save a life . Or you stand there being useless.

What I've learnt over the years with first aid is whatever you learnt has changed... So it's no wonder people are reticent to do it

Agree with that regarding advice on CPR. I have to admit that unfortunately I do not know the latest recommended procedures
