Attacking and Free Flowing.

Seeing as some are obsessed by this Levyism. How likely is it that we can play attacking and free flowing football against..

Man City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Man Utd

After all, these teams represent the top 4 which seems to be the promised land.

Attacking implies we should be on the front foot? So which magical coach can suddenly make us front foot players against the Top 4? Apparently only Conte and Ten Hag for some.

Free flowing means what exactly? Ignore there is opposition and flow past them?

Many here say Levy is clueless about football but in same breath hang on to his supposed ideology of our DNA.

In the last 20 years under Enic when have we played attacking Free flowing football? Pochs football was great for a season and a half but it took a lot of graft and hardwork to dominate possession. His best signing was Alderweireld who marshall our defence with Vertonghen. It wasn't amazing attackers.

The second best part of our team was arguably Wanyama and Dembele. They dominated midfield but neither scored many goals or assists.

The next influential part was our wingbacks. Rose and Walker

Eriksen and Alli could only do what they did because we had a solid team behind them not because we attacked and attacked.

Many will argue but in the Premier league you need to dominate teams or over power then use your assets to win games. This doesn't always result in attacking or free flowing. Even Conte isn't attacking and free flowing so technically he didn't fit that bill either.

Personally I'm not bothered about all this free flowing carp. I just want to see more possession and improve our transitions to give our talented midfielders the ball earlier. With the any brave coach...lo celso, ndombele, Hojberg, Reguilon, Doherty can provide assists and goals for Son and Kane.

Here's to the new coach!!

I'm really sceptical and concerned about Paratici and the reasons he managed to twist Levy's arm regarding the appointment of Nuno. To lean on the 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 system he had at Valencia a long while ago whilst ignoring his inability to transition to those formations at Wolves is a staggering lack of foresight. With the same manager in place for some time and the same agent suggesting players, they couldn't find a way out of the three at the back system. That says to me that he's naturally a conservative coach. Of course he is. He's a former goalkeeper. For Paratici to manage to pass him off successfully as a free-flowing attacking coach is an act of salesmanship rarely seen. What a load of bullsheet.

He's pulled the wool over Levy's eyes here. We all know he wants Nuno because of his Mendes connections, not some genius brainwave that he's magically found an attacking style in an inherently defensive coach.

Levy has basically screwed us all these years and now he's getting screwed himself. This paratici bloke is seriously bad news.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

SO Day 1 in Patricio's reign and even before Nuno is apponted as manager you have written them both off and found more reason to slate Levy.

Unbelievable!! With 'supporters' like you who needs enemies?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, and so have thousands of other Spurs fans. The reason? I thought I was perfectly clear above. We aren't getting Nuno in for any other reason than the fact that he's a Mendes client. He opens the door to players on his books. No one can be 100% certain on whether someone is going to be a success or failure in football but if there is any one certainty here it's that the driving force behind this appointment is led, not by a sound footballing decision based on adhering to the statement Levy gave around a month ago or any kind of club philosophy, but a quick buck. A saving. A scratch my back, we'll scratch yours approach.

Listen, I'll back the man once he's in the hot seat but if you think I'm going to sit there and be quiet when I see my club being used as a haven for snaky agents like Mendes then you've got another thing coming.

If Paratici's 'talent spotting' is dictated by the agents he knows well then forget it. He's nothing without his little black book.

Having said that, I'm fully aware that the manager's position is irrelevant if we cant get recruitment right. I just don't want to see us go the Wolves route and sign Portuguese players left, right and centre and find ourselves with a squad overloaded with them when he gets sacked eventually. Then what?

I just think we needed a more holistic approach. Tear it up, root and branch. Decide who we want to be and then get a coach in to best implement that plan. That's why I was more in favour of the Ten Hag or Potter approach. Long term strategy that's as much about coaching as it is recruitment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well that's your conspiracy theory, arrived upon with little factual basis.

You've basically said that the DoF is a fraud, foisting an unsuitable manager on us who is only getting the gig because of his agents connections.

You then say "I'll back the man" but you have made it very clear that your 'support' is in the context of thinking he's no good for us! You'll turn in him at the first sign of trouble. He doesn't stand a chance
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Devonshire, I think you need to just accept the vast majority of our fan base are fed up and feel completely disillusioned with Levy and the direction we are going. If you feel positive, then fair play to you, but stop coming on here p*** and moaning at everyone that wants to vent their frustration on how the club is run currently. The fans are rightly annoyed and angry at the level of incompetence this managerial fiasco has been handled. This Nuno was clearly not anywhere near a 1st choice target, hence why he’s been a free agent for 2 months and only now do we go for him. The club are a mess and at this moment in time, are going in nowhere. Wether you choose to believe things are going to be all rosy is entirely down to you, but stop f*** criticising people who are rightfully annoyed right now with the club. It doesn’t make you any better a supporter than we are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be fair Don, it does make Devonshire a better suppporter, able to see different sides of the story. Continual criticism is not what most supporters do. Especially when they don`t know the facts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No, it just makes him blinded mate and he has his head in the sand. Some of us can see Levy for what he is and years of him doing it is enough proof for me. The club have been a shambles this summer and you can dress it up how you want mate, but that doesn’t change the fact.

Can talk about our next manager all you want ( after all the media are doing it 24/7 ) but to compete with the 4 teams mentioned, it is about the quality of players we have.

Pure and simple.

These 4 teams have better players and, frankly invest more on their teams than we do.

Let me ask you, do you really think someone like Potter couldn't manage City successfully, because he is, somehow not as fancy dancy or fashionable as Pep ??

Rubbish, frankly with the squad they have and the quality within the squad, my 7 year old neice could turn up and manage that team to be successful.

Forget who the manager is. It's all about the quality of our playing staff.

This is where I would vent my frustrations at the end of the window. Not at a manager like some.

If at the end of the window...the new manager has received no backing, no squad refresh then these are the things to get annoyed about. Not whether Conte or Potter or Ten Hag or Nuno have been appointed.

Poch Jol Redknapp were not first choice managers. I'll be very surprised if Spurs have ever signed the first choice manager. Maybe Santini? But look how that panned out? We got Jol instead thank God.

So for me all this noise making about manager appointments is misplaced. Lets see the playing staff he gets.

Levy is a complete bottle job. Says he wants attacking football for Spurs but ok to see Nuno appointed, when there were attack-minded managers available.

I'm no longer going to give Levy any credit for anything good that happens to Spurs. If it does it'll just be through blind luck on his part.

Sandy, wind it in mate! Don's entitled to his opinion on this, as am I without being accused of being a less worthy supporter. What constitutes a more worthy supporter anyway? Someone that blindly ignores repeated failures and accepts the most inflated ticket prices in the league for very little in the way of return?

Let's rewind a couple of years back to your favourite subject - Pochettino. For all the poor form and final year dip, most of us were happy as he had credit in the bank. You were screaming for him to go. Did that make you less of a supporter? It probably did under your warped logic that support is only measured by fierce loyalty alone. You didn't back the man in charge then so applying your logic, you were probably the most disloyal of supporters. Fair to say? Probably not but I didn't make those rules up. You did.

My point is that you were unhappy then and we're unhappy now. We're allowed to be pizzed off, sunshine, just as you were. We're all fiercely loyal to our club just as I assume you, but we're allowed to be angry at the same time. Love your wife? Sure. Ever rowed with her? Of course you have.

Also worth adding...

When you were angry were were 4th and in the CL.

We're angry now as, as predicted, we're 7th and in the Europa Conference League without a pot to piddle in.

I'd say our gripes are more justified.

Agreed mate. Not too mention the 1 league cup in over 20 years under Levy and ENIC. They don’t care about silverware. #levyout #enicout

I know mate. He was in hot water before and then the manager search happened. Absolute disjointed mess it has been so far, and I'm worried the mess won't be over even with Nuno appointed. I can just imagine Levy interfering again and there will be a falling out with Paratici/Nuno.
