I think that is harsh on Benitez. He did a good job at Newcastle. He probably is of a different era, but I reckon he will do better with Everton than Carlo.

Really? I dont think we were at all. I think our fans reaction to him shamed the club and he maintained his dignity at all times. Won a European trophy for us too. He went up in my estimation big time after his time at Chelsea.

The rant was the catalyst that changed the fortunes of that season. Hearing him say "I'm not staying" let fans & players alike know where they stood.

That's when the consistency of performances picked up, before it was very dodgy. And that CWC defeat , thank god we've got another chance at that this coming season.
